Hello everyone! I'm posting this because the DevLoader links on the main post from Aru are all dead. I was lucky enough to find a copy of DevLoader version 0.5.1 provided from LMS. Since I had a hard time yesterday trying to find it on the internet with no luck, I would like to share this with you as there may still be GTA IV modders who are in need of this. I know that moderators or admins have the power to edit the original post. So I'm asking you to insert into it (preferably re-upload the file on a safe database as I am not sure if my Mediafire account will stay available for many years.

Anyways, I have tested the DevLoader (version 0.5.1) on downgraded GTA IV 1.0.7.0 and it works as it should. Here's a download link:

Oh come on @aru please update your scripthook,even GTA V's scriphook is always up to date for the latest version.

I just need this game to be respected as much as GTA V is respected. Don't leave it in limbo.

Forget for any update of this IV's ScriptHook - its author dissappeared completely, and hasn't answered anyone since GTA IV's 1.0.8.0 update. There's another ScriptHook for that version uploaded on GitHub, but it seems abandoned too, as its author also has vanished as well. Might be this why GTA IV's modding is somehow now pretty much dead, especially with the update to GTA IV Complete Edition…

Then can Alexander Blade make one for it?

We tried, but seems Alexander Blade only maintains GTA V's ScriptHook, not the IV's / EFLC's ones

If lets say we have an updated scriphook for IV, will this bring more modders to the new versions as well?

I don't know, but there's pretty much no ScriptHook mods as average in last few years. The golden period was around 2008-2012 when almost all of existent scripts mods was made for versions prior to GTA IV 1.0.7.0, but majority of them aren't usable currently on recent patches, as GTA IV 1.0.8.0 or Complete Edition, so its might be better better forget and search something else.

Its okay, maybe when this game is remastered then the modders will come back, even the new ones.

What are you people going on about? Scripthook works fine on the latest patch, it just needs the aCompleteEditionHook.asi from the recommended post.

Is this normal, the game doesn't run when I reload the save file? It hangs on black loading screen.

 

 

Solution: Found the cause its dxwrapper May 2021 version.

According to ant.sh I forced old version of ddraw by editing DDrawcompat21=1.

It solved it except this wrapper is not working on Linux since I guess Wine D3d is in use there.
