The size of the page file doesn't matter because you don't want it to start using it anyways. If any process is forced to start swapping (moving things in and out of the swap file) because there is not enough free ram your system will slow down to a crawl. When the system starts swapping the HDD light shines bright almost constantly, especially in games and such. To avoid this situation you should make sure gta 4 is allowed to allocate the maximum 2GB that is allowed for any 32 bit process. This means, if you have 2GB ram it will be sharing that 2GB with all other applications running in the background. But if you add another 2GB, gta 4 will be able to grab the 2GB it wants and keep it for itself. On 32bit systems you may not be able to utilize the full 4GB but this should not be a problem (as you'd still get 3 or 3.5GB, depending on your graphics card).

I do not remember what the error code was about but this should not fix it.

Plz let this solve my frking problem

Wishful thinking, but good luck icon14.gif

Remember that paging file also gets cluttered and needs a defrag from time to time. The problem is that it´s a locked file, thus can´t be defragmented without disabling it first. And rebooting. After defragmentation, You enable it, and reboot.

To make this easier there´s a handy little app that makes it possible to defrag pagefile at boot:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb897426.aspx

I have my page file set to:

Drive: C:

Option: "Custom size"

Initial size: 2046

Maximum size: 4092

Recommended setting is roughly 1,5-2x your RAM, and static. I use the default (what OS recommends) maximum size in both fields.

RESC10 aka "Out of video memory - Please re-boot your system"

If you are using any commandline options in GTA IV I'd suggest you remove them. Lowering the texture quality and drawing distance might fix this. If you already have them at all low, you may want to try to increase them keeping an eye on the required video memory amount and making sure the number stays green while still being as high as possible. A video driver change (newer is not always better) might also affect this.

I believe that may be required if you plan to put your computer to sleep mode. I haven't had any issues with the amount I'm using at the moment. Current PF usage is 567MB, but then again, I'm not doing much. I doubt any game would utilize the PF for anything it is doing anyways as you, the user, should do anything to prevent it from having to use it. Edit: Photo editing tools may require more PF space.
