Omnia sunt Communia

I'm tired of playing a character who gets drawn into a life of crime, through no fault of his own. I want to play as someone who wants to rule the world. A character reminiscent of Tommy Vercetti from Vice City. Someone who doesn't have a need for friends, only partners. Someone who only looks out for himself.

Since the OP didn't provide a plot or backstory or any other useful details, i'll do it.

Our 'hero' is 16 year-old Todd McRodd, who is constantly made fun of in school for his ridiculously stupid name, poor grades, and rumors of deviant sexual behavior. After years of frustration, he drops out of high school to live "on the streets, yo". Unfortunately for Mr. McRodd, his reputation does precede him, and no one - in school or on the streets - wants to be associated with him. Realizing he is an utter waste of flesh, his parents kick him out, and sell his stuff, so he really does have to live "on the streets". Join Todd on his journey through life, and engage in such exciting activities as dumpster diving, bum fights, and getting loaded in the back alley of a bar, wearing 4-month old clothes and smelling of ancient dead fish, before pissing yourself and passing out in a pile of your own vomit and filth. The game features 3 islands, but your character will be too weak from malnourishment to visit the other two. In the final mission of the game, you hang yourself from a bridge. Awesome.

no, because gta characters should always be 25-30, like action movie characters, and no longer even remembering school long enough to mention it. blush.gif

Well maybe it's time for a change. Just as Niko was a new person to the country the young man would be new to the world of crime, but not new to the setting. I've constantly thought of someone young being the main protagonist. It would show you how a young man can turn into a kingpin or an infamous criminal prodigy. Lets say a 20yr old young Hispanic male from Vice City who was looking for a way make a living after an unsuccessful academic life. It would show you how the men you saw in past GTA's like the infamous St. Marks Butcher (Tommy Vercetti) started. You think the Tommy Just felt like being a hitman and a mass murderer for the Leone crime family for nothing, he had to start from somewhere.

I would like to see in next GTA's to make reference to our past GTA heroes.

Tommy Vercetti hasgot to be a infamous name in Vice City no doubt. it would be crazy if his mansion was still there and in tact and rennovated.

I'm going to pass on the cheap joke that could be made regarding the typo in the headline...

This sounds like Bully: Townies Edition or something. Besides, I didn't exactly get the impression that Carl Johnson was anywhere close to valedictorian of his class. If it happens to be part of his story, great, but it's got to go deeper than that.

At the same time, I'm not just looking for a reprisal of Tommy Vercetti. Almost half a year after this board opened, I still don't understand why everyone wants an exact remake of Vice City.

PS-DexX, thanks for the inspiration. colgate.gif Also, at the end of every mission, it says "Mission Failed!" regardless of whether you actually passed it or not. Sounds like failure is the theme there.

Awesome.

I'd buy that game on day one.

Now I realised that this idea was stupid.

Actually, I'd kind of like to see DexX's idea come to fruition. Maybe that can be a project for some GTAF modders. After all, if he doesn't visit the other two islands, it's not like the ground and buildings actually have to be solid. colgate.gif
