IceWolf729
Well, not long ago I got a laptop, and since my PC specs are waaaay below minimum to run GTA 4, I would like to know, if this game ran on my laptop. Here are my specs: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz 2 GB RAM ATi Radeon X1350 with 256 MB 120 GB free HD space Windows Vista 32-bit everything freshly defragmented I'm studying at the university in another town, and I would like to know if I could relax a bit sometimes and play this wonderful game (My laptop runs Call of Duty 4 and Test Drive Unlimited very well). Thanks in advance Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/390343-can-i-run-it-on-my-laptop/ Share on other sites

<Floyd>
well with some overclocking of both CPU n GPU, few updates (drivers etc) and a few tweaks from of forums then you should at least hit the average fps people are getting which is about 15-20fps... kvic
Sure you should be able to run it that is if you don't plan on keeping your laptop. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/390343-can-i-run-it-on-my-laptop/#findComment-1058848177 Share on other sites
:DRX: ¡EyE!
You shouldn't overclock your laptop, that's just asking for trouble. I don't think you would be happy with the performance of GTA IV on that laptop and in the end it would probably stress you out more than relax you, lol. frodo baggins
the bottleneck is probably your cpu speed more than anything else, if you put everything at low (esp. traffic density, maybe 0) you can play-ish Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/390343-can-i-run-it-on-my-laptop/#findComment-1058848508 Share on other sites
IceWolf729
Thanks for your help, guys ! Well, as I read it, that's too bad , but it seems there is a slight chance of me playing on my laptop, as I understand, if I set everything to low. Will it boost performance if I play in 800*600 resolution (or even 640*480 resolution, if it can be selected) ? OabAli
Hold it dude. It seems your graphics card isn't compatible. The minimum reqirement for this is a X1900. You have a X1350. Looky here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon...ics,2086-7.html Compare the 'range' between the Mobility X1350 (your card, Mobility = laptop GFX card) and the X1900 (use Ctrl+F). Doesn't look too good... Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/390343-can-i-run-it-on-my-laptop/#findComment-1058851723 Share on other sites

IceWolf729
OK, I see... So my graphics card won't work. All right, I think that I will get a new PC soon... Well, here are my current specs for my home PC: AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 1 GB RAM Nvidia GeForce 6600 with 256 MB So it really doesn't quite stand up to new games Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/390343-can-i-run-it-on-my-laptop/#findComment-1058853382 Share on other sites
IceWolf729
Hey guys ! Sorry for such a mega-bump, but just today I bought a few components for my desktop PC (a major overhaul ) and, after I will assemble it tomorrow, it will look like this: AMD Phenom II X4 810 @ 2,6 GHz 4 GB RAM Galaxy GeForce 9600 with 1 GB video RAM 1 TB of HD space Will I be able to play GTA IV on max details on this one with a decent frame rate or I should stick to medium settings ? I'm currently thinking to install XP or Vista on the new hard drives...didn't decide yet...
