Fatal error: DD3D30

Hi

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720, 4gb ram, 2x2ghz intel duo core, and Geforce 8600m GT graphics card. Retail version of the game. Running Vista home premium sp1

When i try to run the game, it tries to open the window in various size and fails and gives the error DD3D30. (Since getting the patch it now gives the error code 3D3)

I have tried many 180 graphics drivers from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com (since nvidia have limited driver support for laptop cards.)

Currently using: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index....17entry102817

I have also tried different resolutions and graphics settings, updated all available drivers from the Dell website, got directX 10.0.

 

So where have i gone wrong?

 

I have had this game for 5days now and have not even seen the intro movies or anything let alone managed to play it. My patience grows thin and i will soon be returning it for a refund, which i probably wont get from game.

Should have just got red alert 3.

f*ck you, you f*cking cock sucking prick. What the f*ck has my computer's spec got to do with it? It more than meets the requirements on the case. f*cking arsehole. Rock star can f*ck off as well, f*cking selling a game that obviously dont work. I am getting my money back for this heap of sh*t game, even if i have to send it back to rock star itself. From most the reviews i have read, its sh*t anyway so am probably not missing much.

you need dx9 or your video card needs to be higher. go to google and look up "can you run it" find gta4 under the bar and click go. the it will show you exactly what you need. i had the same error and every thing ran perfect but my video card sucked balls.
