Settings: Texture Quality: Med Render Quality: High View Distance: 30 Detail Distance: 35 Traffic Density: 25 Shadow Density: 2 FPS: most areas: 20 - 30 FPS more cpu-intensive areas: 15 - 19 FPS bridges, water, open areas, flying heli: 35 - 60 FPS interiors: 57 - 60 FPS Specs: see below I tried 1280 x 960 (60 Hz) to make aliasing look less visible, but I think the game started to crash (within minutes of gameplay) because of that (thanx R* Toronto ), or it was caused an overclock to 2.4 GHz. Settings are: 40 view distance, 50 distance detail, medium textures, the rest maxxed out. Runs decent, but it gets increasingly choppy after having played for a while: oddly enough lowering the resolution doesn't make a difference. btw: does anyone know how I can play GTA IV on my secundary monitor (a 1080p LCD TV), what software to use for it? But play the game at max hertz. Know why? Because VSync will force the game to be faster and it will increase the limit to 72/whatever. That's what VSync is for. That's what VSync is for. you do know the vast majority of LCD's don't do above 60hz. and it really doesn't force the frame rate any higher at all, infact it can damage your frame rate quite severely.
