So really, it's a "Thanks, Captain Obvious!" thread more than anything else. Everybody knows there's a second patch coming from R*. Tell that to the ppl yelling "F you cockstar, you suck." I asked them how long it could possibly take to patch his ridiculous behavior and they said "Look we've already got GTA IV on our plates, and you want us to work on THAT too? What else would you like us to work on? World Peace?" All they could confirm to me about his behavior is: - Stuttering fingers causing erratic keyboard behavior - Brain leak enabling foolish decisions to come from it - Exceptionally high amount of LPS (locks per second) endlessly pissing off normal posters who would just like questions answered. With hot coffee as the one exception, Rockstar have never patched one of their PC games more than a month after release or a month after the last patch. Past behaviour is consistently the most reliable predictor of future action for individuals and companies. If they release another patch, it will be a first for them. No one can accurately make a prediction based on evidence that they will, they can only guess. Those predicting there will be no patch, or no significant patch in the future, are basing it on Rockstar's previous behaviour, no guessing required. To me, Rockstar's behaviour to this point has been consistent with that of a company protecting their share price. To confirm a major patch would as a collorary mean admitting there are major issues, which they have not done. Despite this being the only action that would convince me to buy the game(and I would immediately), they won't do it because they don't believe there are enough potential buyers like me waiting for the announcement. Uxot Posted January 5, 2009 Share Posted January 5, 2009 LOLOLOLOL...k omgwtfbbq....if a second patch makes the game more "playable" ..gonna be better than Crysis.. but if they FAIL..ouch i dont wanna be at R* place... one thing that could be cool too is that they add to 360 controller (the gaz - brake) same as 360 like when u press just a little and the car just go slowly same as in choppers (i miss that that) + the ability that the PC dont have is the Free Aim with a 360 Controller...and support for Steering Wheels could be cool too <.< oh and be able the bind Enter key and change the freaking phone keys :S... meh...just saying.. rockstarsuck Posted January 5, 2009 Share Posted January 5, 2009 LOL Rockstar confirmed that as little as 1% of endusers were experiencing problems and that the 1st patch would solve all the problems. They also confirmed that the ATI Radeon 8.12 driver would have specific fixes for GTA IV performance and they did not, there was also no mention of GTA IV in the release notes from ATi which tbh was of no surprise to me when they list games in the release notes that people have moved on from nowadays.
