DerPlaya78
I wrote a little tool for gta iv pc audio files (ripped with sparkiv) you can use it to convert the compressed audio (intel/dvi adpcm) to 16-bit raw pcm files, which you can open with Audacity... I wrote this program, because i wanted to know the file format of the sound files used in iv... i found out some things but it's only enough to rip the music... perhaps somebody can use the source to make something better (like replacing sounds, etc.) http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J42RHLN6
SLAYERMAGGOT
I tried to open a car sound of GTA IV, first i extracted it with Spark, later imported it in Audacity, then i cuted only the engine idle sound out and voila it sounds perfect, but other music files or sounds are crap. But how this works?
Rich246
Can I change the ringtones with this?
DerPlaya78
@SLAYERMAGGOT: See the readme.txt. try the music - for example "radio_liberty_rock/CRY". In theory you can convert all sounds, the only problem is finding the right offsets and block sizes (It's adpcm, each sample is computed from the previos sample, so you have to find the first one...). You could also take a look at the source (.net 3.5, c#), the basic algorithm is in there... @Rich246: extraction only...
