READ BEYOND END OF FILE ERROR

so i tried to install some building mods with IMG tool 2.0(shell gas stations etc.) when i tried to rebuild "gta.img" archive it stopped responding for like 5mins,so i end program. i pull up IMG tool again and go back to open gta.img and it says "read beyond end of file error" so then i close IMG tool and try to start the game "GTA_SA_EXE has stopped working" pops up. so now im like omg i F#@$ed up . So i go to my backup folder and take out my original gta.img file and replace it with the modded one...no joy. So now i uninstall and reinstall the whole game also reinstalling ver1 patch. Start game...same sh*t pops up. Now i am and very . If i coulp plz get some proffessional help it would be

ok my backup files happen to be ver2...i can open gta.img ver2 archives but not one...so how would i go about downgrading ver2 gta.img to ver1? or would i have to redowngrade the whole game to ver1?

so im kinda figuring this out by myself but i am posting it here just in case someone runs into the same problem as i had...come to find out my gta.img file said 0bytes i think this happend when it was trying to rebuild the archive the first time and it just stopped responding on me. I replaced the gta.img 0bytes file with the full backup ver2 one.<wtf? got the no cd crack installed and it works with still a few skin mods installed...NOW...im about to try again to downgrade the game (which would give all my mods back...maybe errors too) but its worth it if i can get the damn thing working again.

I HAVE JUST FIXED THIS ERROR 5 mins ago AFTER AGES AND BASICALLY ALL I DID WAS CHANGE THE GTA3.IMG to gta3 CLICK APPLY AND IT CHANGES THE FILE EXTENSION AND IT WORKS (i am so over the moon cause of this) IF THIS DON't WORK TTHEN MAKE SURE U BACK IT UP. I AM RUNNING A WINDOWS 7 64 BIT HOPE THIS HELPS

OK does your PC can even handle GTA SA properly?

if so...

 

First of all:

 

If the program crashed while rebuilding the file then the file is corrupted.(No longer works)

 

Second of all:

 

When you downgrade GTA SA to V1 you only downgrade the exe the other files won't change EVER just the exe which is V2 and doesn't allow you to mod.

 

 

Solution:

 

-Reinstall the game

 

-Use the V1 ENGLISH crack from the amazing crack site (I can't tell you the name sorry) which is the one that works with CLEO.

 

-Install your mods with Spark for GTA SA (no need for rebuilding) and if the skins show up white or something then rebuild with IMG Tool.

sounds like your gta3.dir file got f*cked
