Maybe you should break the cycle a little and think more in terms of whats on your pc that securom doesn't actually like. If both support places are stuck in "go see mom, go see dad" loop then bypass and start checking out some tech sites for securom manually.

I know securom doesn't like certain CDR's and burning apps and the like but im not completely clued up on the specifics.

The only input I can give is a link to a site which may hold more details to help diagnose (apart from uninstall and re-install of software etc).

http://club.cdfreaks.com/

Its a pure geek site for all things CD and burn based (and not promoting illegal things either as you can see in the rules). Theres a "copy protection" section and also google "securom black list details" something like that to see if anything matches what you have installed.

If all else fails and you are one of the percentage with a securom issue being an arse then you "might" have to go down the route suggested as its not your fault if you paid for it and you don't get support so have too.

also check this thread has a few solution options that may work:

http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=378910

and search google with your exact error (i just copied and pasted you thread title into google) it links back to this site a few times.

you come to us moaning with no other information!!!!!!!what about system specs????

uninstall...then reinstall GTA IV....then install .net framework!!!!!....also make sure you have Microsoft Visual C++ installed (on disk one i think)...make sure your OS has latest Service Pack

You shouldn't complain to other people if its your problem...not there's.

Maintain your PC to eliminate further issues like this devil.gif

Glad to help tho blush.gif

Check list.

C++ redistributable 2005.

.net framework 3.5.

Service pack 3 (XP) Service pack 1 (Vista)

Nvidia 180.84 or ATI 8.12 drivers or later.

Also if you have any virtual drives, disable them, if you have any stale donuts sitting in the pc case, remove them.

Hopefully those fix the issue, if not post back. wink.gif
