Check out these saves from The Chain Game, here there are plenty of great "modded" saves to fool around with with A LOT of added extras that are detailed in the 1st post by the hoster JAJ. These saves work with both V1 and V2, so no need to worry about what version you have. Thanks to Rubregg and Orion for creating the saves located in the Chain Game. Hope this helps.

I know, I'm so full of myself turn.gif

skills...i should have told u earlier about the "PS2 CHAIN GAME SAVES" made by ORIONSR,thoses saves are amazing !!! orionsr did a astonishing work porting massive mods from PC to PS2.u should have saved ur modded cars using his savefiles...as a matter of fact its kind of how the chain game savefile was created, lots of ppl modding the same savefiles over and over again to make it better...look into the chain game topic for pc for more info's.

skills, you, or anyone else, have my permission to add to my custom saves as long as you keep the original in place. So something like; slot 1 for the original, slot 2 for your custom garaged vehicles, and/or a 100% save in slot 3 would be fine with me.

And to answer your question in a PM; no, I don't have modded saves for the other gta games. The last time I checked the save structures for the other games weren't as well documented as SA. The custom SA saves for PS2 involved creating the saves on PC using the PS2 scripts, and then merging that file with a template from the PS2 version. Creating custom saves for VC or GTAIII would be very difficult without considerable research into the save structure of the other versions.

I'm asking that my original modded save, a starter save, be included with your archive. I don't remember now, but I'm fairly certain I only used one slot. I don't care what slot is used; I was just giving examples. The comment about a 100% save was meant more for someone else; I'm not sure what you have in mind. I'm assuming that you will create a package in AR-Max or another format that can include several save files. If you intend to host your save in a single file format, on GTASnP for example, then we can discuss other options.

And while I'm thinking about it, please leave my name on one of the plates. This is a request, not a requirement.

BTW, it is possible to copy a modified garage block and paste it over the garage block of the original save and maintain starting position and other features of my modded file. Hex editing SA saves can be a bit tricky, but if you are interested I can give you some pointers.

Have you experimented with putting custom rims on motorcycles and bikes? Rubregg came up with some pretty cool "mutant bikes" for the Chain Game using this trick.

Added: Oops, my mistake. It looks like I included 3 files.

1 In the beginning: I suspect this is the unmodified "template" save I used to make my modifications.

2 CG4PS2v1b1.b: The file I intended for people play.

3 CG4PS2v1b1DB.b: A debug version of the modified save.

The debug versions usually have wanted levels disabled, extra armor and health, weapons and ammo, all properties available for purchase, garages unlocked, gange wars enabled, and some spending money. There is a pretty good chance the debug version will have some nasty bugs if it is used for gameplay.

The only file you need to include in your archive is CG4PS2v1b1.b. You can put it in any slot you want.

ok, now i got it. here's what i wanted to do. leave the original file in one slot untouched. then make copies of the original file with the modded cars in the other slots, i don't plan on replaying any missions, being that (if i remember right) all of the garages are already open. and about the motorcycles i didn't know parts can be add 2 them. I thought only the colors can be modded

Um, not quite. I haven't looked at those files in a while, so I may be incorrect.

I suspect slot 1 is a default "In the beginning" save with no modification other than a hack I made to open the Jefferson house so I could save. This file is probably useless.

Slot 2 is the modded save intended for gameplay. Please include it in your archive. I recommend making your modifications to this file.

Slot 3 is a debug save. It was intended for people to test the modifications and look at the features on other islands without needing to play the storyline. I did not make any effort to prevent glitches that might be introduced by the debug features. I strongly suspect people will run into trouble if this save is used for game play.

If the save you are editing has all of the garages open then you are working on a debug save. The only garage opened early on the modded save was the small garage at Verdant Meadows. This would be a great save for testing your modifications, and you might also want to include a debug version of your saves for the same reasons as I did. In this case it would probably be a good idea to include my debug version as well, but I won't make that a requirement. If you provide a link to my host at filefront then people can find the original debug version if they need it.

I posted AR-Max cheat codes that make many of the "Chain Game" types of modifications. Many of the features cannot be added using this method. I also included codes that can unlock the garages. Perhaps that is a feature you want to add to your saves. Take a look at the topic linked below for more information.

You're right, all save 1 is, is the PS2 save I sent you so you could make a Chain Game save for the PS2 Greatest Hits version.( I checked it, and it also works on the Triple Pack Versions as well.

btw, Good Job on the Chain Game for PS2 Orion-it is great and works great with the PS2 Greatest Hits and Triple Pack versions. I was wondering if save 3 was normal or not, because when I loaded it up and started playing, I noticed I didn't get the usual 4-star wanted level for accessing the locked areas like vegas and san francisco, but after reading your post, I see it is normal. I finally got it to work not too long ago with ARMAX cheat device. It works with AR Max, but I haven't got it to work with GameShark yet. And as mentioned there are 3 saves in the downloaded package. It made me want to start a new game on the PS2 to try out th new features. The only downside to the PS2 version, was I tried it out after Rubregg made more additions and changes to the PC Chain Game save and thus there were lacking features on the PS2 save. But I would recommend people play the Chain Game save on there second run through the game, because not only does it add new features to the game, but it makes it more interesting.-that is one of the main reasons I usually only use the Chain Game starter saves when going through the game on PC. So all in all, I would like to say Congratulations to Orion(PS2 save creator) and Pdescobar and Rubregg(PC save creators with Orion), for coming up with the Chain Game saves.-Keep up the great work guys. icon14.gifsmile.gif One question though, Orion, if you don't mind me asking, but How did you guys come up with the idea of the modded saves?

The comment about a 100% save was meant more for someone else;

im guessing im that someone else...hi dude, its been awhile!!! about the savefile...

1st,sorry if i didnt request ur permission before suggesting skills to use ur PS2 CHAINGAME save. i kinda tought that was the spirit of the whole thing...so again,if i was wrong im sorry cryani.gif

2nd if that comment was for me (still not sure) i will indeed do a savefile once im done playing around with gangs and territory's and i will test this whole thing up to a 100% completion.of course i would keep ur original savefile and give due credits, i never tought of doing otherwise.

I want to emphasize that the debug save in slot 3 is not normal and was never intended for gameplay. It's purpose is to allow easy testing of the features available in the modded save in slot 2.

It would be possible for someone to add many of rubregg's new features to the PS2 save. It would require a bit of work, but a combination of cheat codes, copying blocks from a PC save, and perhaps a little manual editing can get the job done. Are you interested in giving it a shot? The tricky part is getting the script changes to work on PS2, like opening the bike and boat school early. I don't think there have been new features of this type. However, the PS2 saves still have the Peeing Bums scripts active. Those were removed from the newer PC saves because I couldn't tell what was causing the saves used in Chain Game topic to be so unstable. Oh, hey. Do the PS2 saves still have the extra boat ramps at the aircraft carrier, Shady Creek, along Palomino Creek, and the LS Ferris Wheel? The only boat ramps left in the current Chain Game are at the top of the dam and over the Amphibious Assault ship.

How did you guys come up with the idea of the modded saves?

The idea of modded saves was around long before I came on the scene, and in my opinion, is independently rediscovered by new players all the time. I get the impression that the basic idea is somewhat inherent to the game.

im guessing im that someone else...

Actually, I didn't have anyone in specific in mind. I was clarifying a comment that was intended to extend permissions to anyone, not just skills. You were correct in your assumption that I wouldn't mind if skills made additions to my saves, and there is nothing wrong with making the suggestion anyway. skills was correct about asking permission to publish modifications to these particular files. IMO, if someone could independently implement the ideas I included in the saves then permission wouldn't be needed.

im always interrested in modding SA,however u know i work slowly and im still in learning mode on alot of stuff...a good example of that is: i dont know how u can copy "blocks from PC save" to ps2 one...im not sure what u mean when u say "manual editing"...i never looked at SCRIPT, only hex coding,so i dont understand relation between them.as a matter of fact i would class my skills in "hex editor using ps2 cheat-device" section...but even there, i have yet to fully understand how hex works (mip assambly language)...also i have never played/modded any PC game and i have very basic CPU knowledge...so i guess im not the best choice for that task ,but i offer my help to anyone who would give it a shot.i know hex enuff to create my own cheat-device codes,i know how to "dump" the game hex coding to a PS2save and look at it using PS2DIS.

im not sure...its been awhile since i actually "played" the game,i will go check when ill do some code testing.

ok, slot 2 is the save file i will have to use. so when I'm ready to start this i will

use slot 2 save and make clones of this file with modded cars and bikes, and

since ric-013 already sent me da ar max codes that unlocks all of the garages,i

will use those codes on clone copies and leave the original file untouched in one of the slots. I better check 2 see if i have the code to unlock all the modd garages.

because this will save me time from having to replay the missions to unlock the safe houses and the car mod garages dozingoff.gif now the debug and the in the beginning file, should i leave those files on the save. maybe i should ask these questions when I'm ready 2 start this turn.gif

now that ric-013 ported the v2 color codes i can finish up my 2nd edition saves

and get to work on your modded saves wink.gif those color codes are important 2 my

saves monocle.gif

the "activate all garage" code was made by OrionSR..so it should work just perfect over his savefile, however i dont remember if it was tested...OrionSR did alot of code porting in a short period of time in "code creation" topic ...i havnt tryed them all yet. hum..i shall go in code dreation topic soon and post report of thoses i tested working,i should have done so earlier....skils,if u dont mind, can u report thoses u tested aswell.
