{REQUEST} Free Running script/mod

OK, first of all..I don't know if i posted in the right part of this forum(MOD's please move this if i didn't post correct but don't delete it or close it biggrin.gif )

 

I have tried a lot of great mods that interest me the most...like MegaJump (awesome mod) inlove.gif , Bullet Time (even better) inlove.gif and others that are not of great importance in this topic but are equaly cool... icon14.gif

 

This topic is a request for some kind of a "free running" mod. It would be great if someone who is skilled in .lua scripting could make it for Alice ofc. It should have bullet time+zero gravity toggleable on a key (e.g. Tab) and somewhat of a "zero gravity + megajump toggled on e.g. middle mouse button ( but add more height than in the MegaJump mod, that means it should also have x and y increased..so the jump wouldn't be only height,but also go forward a bit more than a regular jump, let's just say like when Morpheus in Matrix did that first jump..something like that..it would be awesome...

 

The bullet time and jump should be seperated ( hence the different keys)

Free running in GTA IV is great. it's already part of the game but if u want to amp it up to like Mirror's Edge kinda thing just do this

 

1.)get the SLOW-MO mod. if it isn't already then edit it so that when "w/e key pressed" you have 10secs of bullet-speed time tounge.gif for those difficult jumps

2.)ontop of the slow-mo you'll also have less gravity but just enough to get to level tier 3 ledges (Tier 1 is hop over/T2 is human height walls and/or needs a slight jump). so T3 walls would be the height of Garbage trucks or ONE floor.

 

Keeping it balanced it alright. infact i'm going to do this myself XD let's see who comes up with a better free running mod tounge.gif

 

oh and for what you posted on the toggable middle button it's doable. and Morpheus in Matrix is a bit over doing... maybe like the FIRST spiderman jump tounge.gif roof top to roof top.

 

 

 

To keep this from "boring" maybe throw in a mod where the character's running speed is increased. or at least make it so he's never tired (i never see Mirror's edge ppl doing a breather after a jog)

yeah i already have a no tired mod..it's the Superman.lua script that you get when you download Alice...

 

biggrin.gif i know that morpheus is a bit overdone biggrin.gif that was the first thing that poped in my head to closely explain it...

 

about the jump...hmm...i don't know if T3 is enough...it would be enough if the jump could be repeated in air time...so for instance you have like a 20 floor building and you wanna jump from a 15 floor building to it...that wouldn't be enough...but if you could repeat the jump in the air...you could jump all 5 floors no biggie...that would be unrealistic...but hey..it's a game...if i knew how to do .lua scripts..i would do it myself..but i guess i can't learn it in one days time... suicidal.gif

 

i already tried configuring other scripts of the megajump or bullet time..and have failed..cuz my game crashes..so im making a request here...cuz i suck

yeah i have the bullet time mod..it's awesome...that would be the best example of the mod i want..just if it would be possible to increase x,y,z coordinates so the jump doesn't look like a ghost gliding but rather a jump...i configured it so it toggles on middle mb ( the bullet time mod)

-.- but it's finding something from ground level and making you're way up each floor that's fun and worth a challendge. cause you'll have to find things to go off rather than just jump anywhere to anywhere tounge.gif this ain't Hancock you know tounge.gif

Find a toggable Super man script so that you only get god mod during slow-mo !

 

EPIC!

 

and then keep the original super man just for the "No tired" part tounge.gif

i've tried to make superman toggleable but it didn't work...i don't think there is a toggleable god mode mod..just a trainer...

Can't grab? you do know that if you're falling towards an edge you can grab the ledge by pressing spacebar (i prefer to spam that button so i don't miss)

 

lets say you're on floor 20 and there's a building right next to it just out of reach. you run all you can and you jump off the building towards the next one. you realize "OH sh*t" so you spam the spacebar and VOILA! you're hanging on the 2nd building's ledge. just press space again to lift yourself up.

 

but if you insist on double jumping arround like mario then go ahead and code that tounge.gif there arn't many natives related to jumping

i know about the spacebar biggrin.gif but there are things in gta 4 that you just fall throught...like i tried to jump from a 15 floor building to a next building that had a vent. shaft and i just fell throught the vent shaft.. iwas like wow.giflol.gif

Theres a 0.5m gap between two buildings. You would think Niko would jump over the barrier and across the gap. Instead, he vaults over and straight in the middle.

Perhaps this will be something to be fixed in future.

Thanks i'll give it a try. and also the slow mo mod is great tounge.gif all it needs now is a bit of tweaking. cause it kinda goes like this

 

Button>slow mo... then press again super slow mo... then super spuer slow mo.. wtf?

 

i just want Slow/Fast

 

no like 3 modes.. that sucks... anyway you think it should be edited?

It turns out he made it a gradual from 1.0 to 0.3... but during that gradual change you can't go back to fastmo sad.gif

can you delete parts of it so that only god mod is toggleable? please? we've been trying to find someone to make toggleable god mod script XD and set it to k"keypressed 4" (middle mouse button)

Damn...something inside the free running script is causing my game to super lagg..the sound repeats itself and the game itslef takes ages to load... any clues why?

 

EDIT:

 

it's awesome..just awesome...and the fact its toggleable is just great...only thing left to do is find out why my game laggs so much

i configured a recent bullet time i found..if i could just add zero gravity to it..check it out..this one doesn't lagg at all

i managed to add the set gravity off function..but i'm missing the gravity on function..everytime i do add it it crashes.. biggrin.gif you try it..i'll edit the code to just have gravity off when it toggles bullet time... you add gravity on when bullet time is toggled off.. biggrin.gif

Ok, I tried it, this lua script works perfect.

oh. i'ma going to try again.

 

hey is there anyway to edit it so that only god mode is affected. seems to have some infinite ammo and other things going off in it.

oh kevaughan..i managed to fix the script..now it can toggle bullet time+gravity on/off

 

EDIT:

 

we should try to seperate the bullet time from zero gravity...so when we wanna jump like a longer distance we use zero gravity...and when we wanna use slow mo we use it..that's what i'm trying to do right now...it's failing..you try to seperate it..im learning lua scripting right now biggrin.gif
