kaligula
In the requirements it says that the game will only run on Window XP SP 3 or Vista SP 1... However if you don't want to upgrade to SP3 just to run the game then there is a hack that will run the game on SP 2 or 1... The thing you have to do is to make the game think that you are running SP3... Click on "run" in the start menu and open up "regedit". Then go to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows Then you right click on the key "CSDVersion" and click "Modify" and change the value from 200 to 300. DON"T CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE. Click OK and restart your system. You may want to backup your registry before you do this. I have tested and it works fine for me, Game runs and everything... This will fix the error RMN40 (Windows XP: Need to have Service Pack 3 or higher to proceed.) Try this at your own risk ... Remember Backup!!!!!! Or you could just set a windows restore point... Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/389582-gta-iv-on-windows-xp-sp2/#findComment-1058836793 Share on other sites
