I think I would've really liked this ten years ago. I was just discovering drum and bass and spend many nights looking at online essentials lists, YouTube playlists and record labels. As it happens though, I've moved past the genre. Some of the effects on the drums are nice and there are some interesting changes of pace that seem to divide the songs into sections, but for the style of song it's a little too long and even the differences don't save this from sounding stale to me. I first thought the song had finished at about 4 and a half minutes. Eventually I thought it was a little sloppy. I'll give it a 4 though.

8/10 - Interesting sound. It reminded me of Dub Fx.

6/10, brings back memories of me and a friend playing Hotline Miami and trying to find songs that fit the style. We came across this and nearly dismissed it after looking at the artwork. It just had to be easy listening, right? Nah, this slapped and went right at the top of our playlist. Synthwave had an even shorter shelf life than vaporwave but it doesn't make it any less of a good time. There's nothing too complicated here, but there are some great tones and layering at play. However, I have only given it a 6 because it isn't a genre I tend to listen to much anymore.

Really into this guy's work lately. It's a deranged cross between electro-industrial and doom metal type stuff.

7/10, probably one of the most sampled reggae songs ever, think the break from "Amen Brother" but dancehall instead of funk and soul. It's nuts to me that this song had been used for over ten years before Sister Nancy visited the US and learned of the song's international success. She was finally credited and received back payments for use in a Reebok advert of all things, but it says a lot about sample culture. One of my favourite uses of the song is on Kayne West's The Life Of Pablo which is paired with some punchy drums and trademark production flair. For the song itself though, I think I rate it a seven more for it's influence on both reggae music and popular culture.

8/10 this sounds like something that I'd probably hear on the sopranos, theres something really analogue and feel good about late 90s early 2000s house/alt dance

Sounds like some pop-flavored alternative song (or vice versa) from the 2000's. Not really a fan of this track. 5/10

Really interesting track, I feel like it has a mix of a lot of different genres. I really enjoy the sound of it, it almost feels like the type of song you'd hear on a Movie or TV Show if that makes sense. 7/10.

2/10, unfortunately not my thing at all. The singer sounds like somebody trying to sing a Creed song after four beers. I had heard this song before and thought it was Barenaked Ladies at first, they've got a similar sound as far as instrumentals go. I think so anyway.

9/10 - I've not heard this before and I'm listening to it on good headphones and it just sounds really well produced, especially the drums and the bass/guitar. All the instruments just sit so well with each other.

9/10 - I like the galloping bassline that's found in tracks like Barracuda, Iron Maiden tracks and this one. It's also weird to hear Dio with Sabbath. I'm not used to. I always just think of him as a separate artist, which he is but I really only know him from Holy Diver.

Excellent cover of Pink Floyd.

2/10. I don't know what it is about Oasis that I dislike. I like a good deal of pop rock in an inoffensive "it'll do" kind of way. I don't think it's their ego, because I like a fair few musicians who very clearly have their heads wedged firmly up their anuses. It isn't their production or instrumentation really, because they're stylistically similar to some bands I enjoy. I suppose I was never really swept up in the Oasis craze when they were huge and you couldn't move for their success. I even felt a twinge of "oh good" when they broke up because I remember giving their last album Dig Up Your Soul a listen and hated it. I cannot abide Oasis. I'd rather wear cement shoes than actively play their music. It's just so boring.

7/10, never heard of this group before, I quite like it. It feels very claustrophobic though, but not in the sense that there's a lot going on. It feels like I'm listening to it in a cramped bedroom for some reason. One thing that does bother me is some aspects of the track I wish would be more prominent seemed bogged down by other instruments. It's like things are getting in each other's way somewhat. Still, I like it.
