-Nas "One Mic"-

hell yeahhhh

Needs a legitimate opinion ;P

10 out of 10 without a doubt. Lyrically killah!

To Stefan's song, 4/10 - that is what puts hip hop in shame, no offense!

Now..

[

One of the best songs... I... have... ever... heard!

"Please stop with the bull, this is profitable."

"Society will rape ya when you fight forces of nature."

I'm just glad to balance the selections with some GREAT rock and Metal, Nas toured here very recently but I'd never pay to see that live, sorry!

EDIT, I rated in original posting, with some later editing, again, situation has to allow me time and I am on a battery or limited outlet for WiFi..}

More REAL 80s retro, these guys I heard again on a cassette of mine from so very long ago and dug their tune online via YT again! Major coolness.

HA!

I'll get back with a rating, the Net's too slow at present, not sure WTF!??

@Stefan, sure some non English is fine, we are International here ;:~]p

6/10, tad too quick for my liking.

And we can go other languages? Sick. Not my fault if you don't understand it; this is the music I like afterall. tounge.gif

Tad too gypsy, but oh well.

What the f*ck are you saying? Honestly, I didn't understand a thing. You first say that you are "balancing" the thread with your depressing music and then talk about Nas touring your city but you didn't pay to see him. Like I give a sh*t?

Please don't quote me again, or do that once you stick to the one subject and not talk a whole lot of random sh*t. And silly me, the thread clearly states this topic is limited to metal music, sh*t, what am I doing here anyways?

8/10. I liked the original song, and the rap on this one flows nicely.

How about classic r&b?

The servers have been struggling lately lots of people have been double/triple posting through no fault of their own.

Anyway I'd say 4/10 I can't get into that style of music.

Here's something different, one of my favourite classical tunes of all time.

0/10... Not my thing, I enjoy some hip hop, but mostly old school/golden age or alternative.

Late-period Beefheart, good song off the best of his last three albums (IMHO).

You should step the F...k off man, before we tangle!

I don't dig you getting "hard behind your keyboard" knocking other people's taste in music. I'm saying Nas toured here, but I would not go to see him, there's much better ROCK shows.

That being said, rock and rap only mix on a marginal level at best, the difference is glaring. Even among rock fans there is very particular taste. I also will be using EDIT to fix any errors, everyone should (like adding the votes I neglected, I was planning to but had limited time, etc.

You can take your modern rap and flush it down the toilet. The problem is MTV played nothing but "urban beats", and then they stopped playing music for sh*t shows. I'm pretty hopping mad about the state of music on TV, even FREE TV. I am and will balance the selections, with what I deem worthy tracks. The songs I post I listen to more then once because they're good, bottom line. There's no way for me to explain why others can't hear the same thing I do, or the brain interprets what we hear a certain way. To me, it's a mystery for sure... But I know the stuff I love stands up to repeat listens.... It can be serious or funny as well.

Here's what I deem a mix of both;

For the above, I gotta load it and listen...

I had cable in the 1990s when this got vid play, I pretty much find it ultra-annoying but as I judge rap, delivery is half the battle...so to speak.

His fast rate of "rap" makes it stand out, and I find gives it artistic merit, however, repeatitive as HELL

I'll give it 3/10

But for Carrey's effort I just unearthed, I give a hearty 10/10! It's funny and I'd never seen it, still good.

Showing the funny side of great music, parody as well as just funny songs. BTW, Asimov?

6/10, nothin unique.

It is in terms of the pop song of the day, I was noting with the online comments, the longest recorded vocal on record in a song as it ends!

I say everyone who is fed up with Slamman spamming the thread with his random sh*t, ignore his posts. We all know when he posts below someone, he doesn't do what the thread asks for (rate the song above). Instead puts a couple of other songs and brags about how much he loves them. Ignore them and rate the song ABOVE his post. I know he'll respond to this with another rant but ignoring is the best thing to do.

On topic: Sorry Jean Capel, but the video is not available in my country and I can't rate it. Someone else who is able to watch it can do so while they rate this song too:

Above ; 5/10, a key for me is the lyrics serve no purpose but to annoy. Musically this should have been part of the eclectic artistry of the newer Woodstock events, I think it fits well with the spirit of at least the 1994 one, and the last one, you DID have Guster and some other oddball artists thrown in.

You're a complete idiot, by example of what you stated

And I will RATE the song, In keeping with the topic, however, I'm currently using two browsers and YouTube is on the other one.

I will not rate RAP and Hip Hop too high, because It's not my genre of choice, in fact, I think it gets WAY too much exposure now. The same way new music is hyped over old songs and groups. They have more relevance over the time they've stayed in the collective.

And Jimmy, No one asked you. To ignore music like Motorhead shows you're just as ignorant.

Edited as intended (now one browser open), This song I had been looking for a good kick in the teeth, musically speaking, this vid has some unexpected Nudity and if you can't handle it or don't even think you'll like it, don't Click.

I was looking for a clean version from the CD, which I own, but strangely absent on YT.

I'd like to agree, as Lemmy Kilmister also said, and I mentioned before, but this gets a bit one sided, and we all have that taste that there's "no accounting for!"

I like things with a basic beat and guitars, LOTS of guitars to be honest. But I am not exclusive to that.

I would comment and vote/rate VERY highly for Court of the Crimson King, such a lost classic. Great choice 10/10

I'll edit one to stay better in sequence. Sorry bout that. smile.gif

Here's a new one, not so METAL...Ok, old one, but....

Stereo, original;

Beastie Boys I like, Now they know how to combine influence AND humor!
