Okay song, a bit to dull for my tast, 7/10

 

Now this here is one of my favorite songs of all time, so i hope someone really takes the time to listen to it:

 

 

loosely translated summary of the lyrics:

 

Two guys between 18-20 live dull lifes in the 70's in some suburb to stockholm, the singer and a guy named billy. One day the Billy calls the guy singing and asks if he wants to travel, when asked where, he just says "away" and gets a positive reply. he quiets his job at domus (70-s foods store chain) gets his last paycheck and calls his mother and says he's leavening together with the singer.

 

They go to the station and get the train to Malmö and the ferry to Copenhagen where Billy finds some bikers that he smokes some weed with and he keeps on telling the singer "You know what all this is about right?". he later wants to head onward to Amsterdam but the singer backs out and goes back to sweden,

 

Years later in july '77 the singer gets a letter from Köln, Germany written very slobby. in it turns out that Billy has started doing heroine and now lives on the streets of Köln. it ends with Billy writhing "you know what this is about right?" again which gets repeated all through the song.

The singer also happens to be Per Gessle from the band Roxette
