FX2K
I am not home. willl do when i get there. looks great minus the "fail" newbs. Lol, just because im reporting my findings doesnt make me a 'Newb' I take it your referring to me, since I was the only one who posted FAIL. geoffrey2008
Well I formatted my entire PC today and just getting things up and running including installing GTAIV. It ran pretty much solid on my old OS installation but since I done a clean install of Windows XP and used these drivers the game crashes constantly after 5 minutes. Each and every time and even before that it runs at a fraction of the FPS it ran at on my old installation. Oh well it was good while it lasted. Why are people 'on here' so gullible ? The OP posted links stating a new driver is available, not stating that he got double FPS infact not even mentioning anything relating to GTA... Nobody replied to the post you quoted post saying 'ahh well if you say its real, ill download it then' Therefore, theres no reason for you to put a useless post claiming people are gullible just because they want to try a new driver version out to see if it makes a difference or not. bishman82
I'm trying to figure out why there is no mention of these through Nvidia? Think I will wait until there is at least some confirmation from them. They are leaked that's why. I'm guessing these drivers are handed out to certain testers/developers a few days/weeks before they are officially available on the nvidia site. All it takes is 1 person to upload them. P.S.Ived made a map with the fps i got ingame diferent spots of the city...anyhow ived put performance in nvidia CP at texture filtering wich it f*cks up the water but "i think" i gained some fps... But thats only on day time.In night time the fps drops between 5-10...and when it rains i dont have more then 45 fps nowhere. I didnt notice any fps gain ingame...BUT the game runs more smoothly now...the outrageous frame drops are less noticeable with 185.20 driver. nick18
Its the game that has the problem not our graphics drivers, I know you people are really gullible and want to believe anything, But your game is not going to run great until Rockstar does something about it, Maybe a new driver will give you a false feeling of the game running great but its not. Its obvious that on these forums even if something did fix your game no one would ever know since half the idiots say "IOMG THIS DON"T WORK BROKEDED MY CPU" and the other half say "ZOMG THIS WORKZ SO GOOD I GET LIKE 50 FPS BOOST" Than there is one or two people who say they see no difference what so ever. Yup, it is the game that has the problem... but graphics drivers can and do help on occassions, so worth a try, nothing gullible about that Just look at the FPS increases in some games when the 180.48 drivers where released over previous 178.xx drivers I mean, if they didnt make a difference... why the F* would anybody even update their drivers in the first place Why would Nvidia / ATI release drivers which fix some issues in games. I agree but I just installed these drivers and the game runs exactly the same. Seems like the game loves to lag when you get cops on you, Even if there not in sight just right when I gain stars I get lag, Its really disappointing I can barely play with decent fps on 9800gtx+. x_orange90_x
for those wondering, these are real nvidia drivers, they are just leaked. they are dated Dec 26., so they are pretty fresh. maybe nvidia just decided to dump them and will soon release a version a bit newer with a few more tweaks. here is the story on it: http://www.tcmagazine.com/comments.php?id=23709&catid=3 anyway, im gonna download these tonight and try them, but i have to wait til 2am cuz i cant download til then. 106mb is a bit heavy for the driver, but it has PhysX in it as well so its expected.
