vkvkvvk
The 185.20 driver has a new feature called Ambient Occlusion can be set at the NV control panel. The below link has screen shot about the difference with Ambient Occlusion ON or Off Not sure if gta has that feature though http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/258720-3...bient-occlusion

NIR_NazcaC2
Where do these websites get these drivers when they're not even listed on NVIDIA's site (as far as I can see; correct me if I'm wrong). I'm staying with 180.84 for now but thanks.

FX2K
Has anyone tried the on/off Ambient Occlusion option? Don't know if it would do anything in GTA, though. Probably not since they would have had to take that into account with their futureproofing lol Still cant try, waiting for a backup to complete before I can restart
Sorkenlol
Quick question, I don't usually install drivers myself, but do I have to uninstall my previous driver before installing this?
eagle016
I saw those screenshots on that page. But for GTA I mean.. Ya I figured, just checking though. I wouldn't expect a difference in visuals though, as GTA doesn't have ambient lighting like there are in other games (if there is any at all, my shadows have been messing up). Meki
I tried the new driver 185.20 today and it was the first time possible for me to run the benchmark. So I would just to write it down here, maye to compare different systems between each other. I dont have a old benchmark done obviously to compare them... Statistiken Durchschnittliche FPS: 44.92 Dauer: 37.20 Sek CPU-Auslastung: 77% Systemspeicher-Auslastung: 35% Videospeicher-Auslastung: 90% Grafikeinstellungen Videomodus: 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz) Texturenqualität: Hoch Renderqualität: Maximum Sichtdistanz: 27 Detaildistanz: 54 Hardware Microsoft® Windows Vista" Home Premium Service Pack 1 Grafikkarte: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 Video-Driver Version: 185.20 Soundkarte: Lautsprecher (Creative SB X-Fi) Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.66GHz File ID: Benchmark.cli I made this with 2X anisotropic filter forced in the driver and the new feature ambient occlusion set to medium... Lurkingsockpuppet
No, GTA does not have Ambient Occlusion, when you goto the game profile its greyed out and says not supported. I'm going to rename my shader folders back the way they were, it made my game smoother but with the new drivers it might work better to have the original. Hope to see a boost like some are having, but dang my head hurts lol
Millenia
Has anyone tried the on/off Ambient Occlusion option? Don't know if you saw the ones on the site, but here's Crysis comparisons. OFF ON Don't know if it would do anything in GTA, though. Those screens are wrong: they're comparing DX9 vs DX10. Ambient occlusion doesn't affect lighting that much, google some REAL shots of it to see how it truly works.
FX2K
Or have a look at one prepared earlier. http://www.projectoffset.com/powordpress/w...07/11/po_ao.jpg Besides, the first shot of the crysis ones doesnt seem to load 'ever' for me, so couldnt see anyway Driver did nothing for my FPS atall... altough it seems a little more stable, off to see what difference AO makes in another game now. Sorkenlol
They don't work for me.. I downloaded the first link (the other mirror "Toomanydownloads" or whatever didn't work, download just stopped after a minute.) anyway I downloaded, installed it, and then restarted the computer, but in the nvidia control panel it says the driver version is 178. What should I do?

Lurkingsockpuppet
I see no real change with these drivers, reverting the shaders back to the original made my game laggy again. But as for the drivers alone.
