Vicius
Hi everybody, only registered here to see if I could try and get some help. When I try to play the game, I get an acceptable FPS count, although regardless of what settings I put in the graphics, I get only very low and blurry textures on just about everything except vehicles and people. And I mean really blurry. And that's when the textures even load, because on quite a lot of places some buildings are missing walls, roads are simply not there, etc (there's really way too much of them to list). And even standing around for a few minutes waiting for them to load doesn't make those appear in most cases, and when they do, they're still blurry. I am running retail version on windows XP with SP3. I applied the patch to the game and no luck. I also updated my VGA (8600 GT) driver to that special driver Nvidia developed for GTA IV, and while it did help loading on some of those missing textures, there are still a lot missing, and the ones that are there completely blurred. I know for a fact that my rig should at the very least be able to run it "normally" on lowest settings, so it is surely not due to not meeting minimum requirements. For some reason though I get very low memory count on the graphics settings. Eventhough I have 3 GB RAM (not fantastic I know, but should get the job done). Also, I don't seem to be able to run the benchmark tool, as it just remains stuck on the loading screen indefinitely. Also, in the mainscreen the cursor moves really sluggish, even at maximum sensitivity. Anybody having the same problems or know a solution for this? I am trying to find people with similar problems on other forums and such, but with no luck yet. Harrysdk
Got the same problem (described here) http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?act=ST&...entry1058831411 Now trying the nvidia special patch crap to see what happens. I have been searching for a solution for almost a week now, and even though ppl state that they like the game, GTA IV has lots of issues for me so far Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/389219-graphics-glitchesbugs/#findComment-1058832106 Share on other sites
Vicius
Hmm, I did that "ultimate optimization" thing from the sticky on top of this forum, and it really did help a lot. The FPS count is not smooth, but at least now I can see things and they're not blurred anymore (some shadows and such still look a bit more blurry then they should) so at least it's playable now. Still would like to know a way to optimize FPS count even more. Also, benchmark still doesn't work and I just noticed that the game also gets stuck during the loading screen when trying to load a game when I'm already in-game, whereas loading from the main screen goes fine, meaning I have to ctrl-alt-del to kill the game and restart it every time I mess up. Wouldn't be as bad if there was a way to skip all those little intros from rockstar and those white text walls in the beggining before getting to the main menu.
