Xbox Original Download

Recommended Posts

I don't have a problem with the game. Sometimes I get pop ups/a cut out of sound but only for a second or two. The only killer for me was having to download it from the marketplace for about 6 hours. Thats proberly down to my connection.

San Andreas takes 2.9GB of storage.

Compared to the PS2 the graphics are little better. The Xbox version of San Andreas came out the same time as the PC version so basically there are the same changes from the PS2 version. Unlike the PC there were no further updates for Xbox other than to remove Hot Coffee data.

I played San Andreas on a real Xbox before and there are some glitches playing it on a 360. Sometimes sound effects are missing (not too bad). The biggest visual problem is exploded vehicles don't render solidly and sort of wink in and out as your camera moves. There's also a bit of a double-vision or blur problem toward the sides of the picture. Overall it plays pretty solidly. Audio is good positional surround sound except cutscene dialog uses the front speakers instead of the center which is annoying compared to GTA IV which does it correctly. One Xbox feature that is gone on the 360 is the custom radio station. On Xbox you could play your own music through the car radio and it would add commercials, which was awesome. Does not work on the 360 and you can't play music from the 360 dashboard either because that doesn't work with Xbox Originals.

My biggest gripe with San Andreas is that it runs worse on the 360 than Vice City and GTA III do. VC and GTA3 actually run in HD on the 360 (do any other original Xbox games do that???) and have shiny reflection-mapped cars. San Andreas is frustrating because it went backwards on those features.
