Did Take2 support just give up on GTAIV?

Recommended Posts

I sent an email to them explaining my issues with graphcis and the controller and asked how, if even possible, I could get a refund.

You know what they told me? NOTHING - no even a reply, guess if they just ignore us they think we will go away. I am not impressed, an automated email told me I would get a response in 24 hour, I got nothing ... nota. Great support! Keep my 50 bucks, it was a good lesson learned.

To the OP :

Thats the problem with this world nowadays

10 years ago people actually expected companies to close over the holdiays, these days everybody expects them to be open every single day of the year period. Everybody deserves time of especially during Xmas and New Year whether you celebrate it or not.

Did the automated reply wish you a happy xmas (yeah I gathered it was sarcasm on your part)

perhaps you should do some research for example here on GTA Forums . Lot's of answers here.

Reply to so I don't have to quote several of you....

1) I've been waiting about 58 hours now.

2) The automated response should say they are closed, not you will receive a response within 24 hours. Simply not true.

3) Yes I expect a response from my question even if it sorry we are not giving you a refund. My question is valid and so are my complaints.

4) Yes I have searched the GTA forums and got the graphics issue fixed. However my controller does not work (wingman rumblepad I) and sorry but I refuse to play this with a keyboard and mouse.

5) I don't need to lower my system specs because I am running an i7 [email protected] ghz with GTX280's in tri sli with 12gb of system memory. New build.

6) Yes I am sarcastic because many here are enjoying GTAIV and at this time I am stuck with a game that won't work. (yes by my choice because I refuse to use a keybaord and mouse or buy a new controller). I realize you guys will flame me that I'm complaining but again from my viewpoint these are acceptable complaints.

HOW DARE THEY!!!!

Close over the holidays? Be like every other support line and require 3-5 business days on non-holidays?

Like Rallzor said, use the search function, since everything you asked could be found here. IF they were at the office and did in fact read your email, they probably didn't answer since it's something that could be found all over the internet.

I've search and so far can find no way to make a rumblepad I to work? If you could assist me in finding this information I would be greatfull but so far it appears everyone is saying just wait for the patch. Anytime I try to use it I get the locked up key thing and the camera goes to the floor. If they closed their automated email should state that, if you owened a business would you not communicate with the customers you want to keep?

Ok, I agree they should have updated their automated response to let people know of their opening times over the holidays or at least their return date which I suspect as being the 5th Jan

I mean, im personally just speculating that they are closed.. they may infact be open as usual which I doubt.

See no flaming from me...

In regards to your choice of controller, I dont think a controller incompatibility is going to cut it, in terms of wanting a refund, altough they should support them, they dont have to (now to flame me) I was one of the stupid ones who bought Juiced 2, with no steering wheel support LOL only Xbox controller support... now thats dumb for a racing game, but still no refund for me since I had to open it to find this info out.

i e-mailed way before x-mas 2 weeks there abouts...

got nothing so far.

They're most likely still swamped by all the people having problems with the game, my guess is it's gonna take a while before you get a reply... even then, as with most tech support, don't expect much. You have more luck fixing it yourself/with the help of people online.

And yeah, you really think they're open during the holidays? They've got lives too you know...

Maybe they're hiding under the desk hoping that if they ignore you, you might go away mercie_blink.gif

it doesn't matter so much as i had a second soundcard that works with the game, but i'd atleast like acknowledgement that someone will look into it.

I know many friends in my industry doing well and working for companies that make a fraction of what Rockstar are and they all have support lines open every f*cking day of the year.

It is the least expected from a firm whose products are utilised every day of the week, they aint mystical Lords that have granted us the very gift of life to be bowed and scraped toward for their benevolence beyond all imagination, all they have done is spent 5 minutes porting this heap of sh*t onto us and offer nothing by way of appeasment to their customers that they will even acknowledge an issue of any kind.

You guys are so easily f*cked up the arse aintcha!

Can I interest you in some magic beans?

I'm not saying it's ok, just saying that's the way it is.

Your friend's company is smaller than R* yet have open lines year-round? No sh*t...

The bigger a company gets, the less they care about anything else than the bottom line.

Again not saying it's good, but that's the way it is.

Hmm... don't read my posts?

A Pokemon fan calling me annoying... that's funny tounge2.gif

Do you buy vegetables from the shop and then go back to the farmer for a refund?

I mean come on, its not them you should be asking for a refund. sigh.gif

Are you nuts? Who should I be asking for a refund? Yes if I buy something from someone and it does not work or it is no good I go back to them for a refund.

You should be asking the store you bought it from, not the person who made it, obviously you didn't quite get what I meant.

Its the STORES responsiblity to chase down these problems, not yours, it is the STORES responsibility to refund your money.

we're not talking about vegetables here. the store didn't develop the game, how is it their responsibility?

yes, they should refund your money and then get back the loss of profit from rockstar, but the responsibility itself lies solely on the developers of the game. any bug or issue that is not the fault of the player is the fault of the developer.

I personally think they don't even care about the PC version of this game right now because of the horrible optimization and everything, they just didn't even try to make a good port and I personally don't think they have any intention in making the game better at all.

Class action lawsuit - 50 dollars and punative damages. I want my time reimbursed for having to post on this forum too. My frustration is expensive! smile.gif

*kirk face palm*

You missed my point, it is not YOUR job to chase up the developer, you bought faulty goods from the STORE, thus the store is to refund or replace that product, if said product is from a faulty batch or simply badly made then the STORE will chase up that issue, it is not your job to get a refund directly from the developer, especially when they don't even handle the discs after the software is done.

Although you COULD send your opinion to the developer along with a nice little letter or whatever, but my point was merely that you don't go for a refund directly from the source if you purchased the product from the middle man. sarcasm.gif
