Rockstar Games Social Club Locking up my system

Ok I finally got this game as a xmas present so after waiting patiently for so long to play it I was looking forward to spending boxing day doing nothing else.

But unfortunatly it wasnt to be as this Rockstar Games Social Club nonsense locks my computer up every time during login or not long after.

I have tried updating the social club app, updating games for windows live, updating, completly removing and reinstalling .net frameworks, installing the gta 4 patch, using different graphics card drivers, changing every setting I could think of, shutting down background apps, turning off vista aero, I've even reformatted my entire system just to try and get this god damn game to work. I am now using the latest drivers for all my hardware and installed all the latest updates for vista but nothing seems to stop this from locking up.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening. I do not believe there is a fault with my system as it runs any other game or app I have flawlesly and after receiving no reply from rockstar support themselves I don't know what else to try next apart from shelving it.
