yes they do!

-DO NOT use the logitechprofiler

-use the -usedirectinput commandline

-in game use the standard NOT the classic controller profil

in wich u can see the triggers beeing throttle and break

then pedals should work 4 u!

but as i mentioned before it feels weird,

lot of latency.

it is not so much latency.... it is a massive deadzone, or non-sensitive wheel

People that havent got pedals to work... are they combined or separate axis in your control panel?

well i dont think my g25 is non-sensitive..

..in fact i beleive its the most sensitive stock wheel

there is rolleyes.gif

i'd rather say its the deadzone BUT we can NOT

set a deadzone IN game

and the pedals must be seperate.

This is what I made and it still doesn't recognize pedals. Is this correct? Please advise.

so it basically means we still have to figure out how to make our G25s work on our own.

there is possibility: if the xbox controller is supposed to have analogue throttle, brake and steering, all we need is an xbox controller emulator which keeps analogue in mind.

the problem is it has to use each polarity of the combined pedals as separate trigger on the controller(or in the less realistic case we need to use clutch as brake, because the combined don't allow burnouts from principle of the shared axis).

4 dummies:emulating keyboard is definitely NOT the way!

somebody pls help me with getting some lost original files i described here http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=394143 ,so i could at least try something.

Given that the new Rockstar patch has not solved the G25 incompatibility problem, bounty is still available. Just wanted to advise.

Quick update:

Some success today. i have been playing around with the fantastic Toca Edit XBOX360 emulator program. The game recognizes my g25, and initiates the wheel such that force feedback is enabled (which means smooth turning of wheel). There is a possibility to map buttons in the .ini, but I don't know what corresponds to what and while the wheel works the pedals do not.

For some reason when I enter the car it is always doing a burnout...

If somebody could figure out a way to mod the xbox360 emulator .ini to make the wheel and pedals work correctly, that would result in a reward of the bounty for that person.

sorry m8 took a while.

for the use of -usedirectinput u need 2 have a shortcut

of LaunchGTAIV.exe on ur desktop.

make a rightclick on the shortcut and choose properties.

in the window opening there is a field called target, which

should look like "C:\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe"

respectivley the drive is the one u pointed out during installation!

now u have to add -usedirectinput behind the shortcut,

so that it looks like that:

"C:\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -usedirectinput

click apply and/or close the window by clicking OK.

now u can just click that shortcut with ur g25 pluged in and ur good 2 go!

wheel, pedals, d-pad and the 4 black buttons on top r mapped in game and work!

a and m8 PLEASE use smaller fonts and pics, even on my 1080p display its toooooooo wide cool.gif

almost forgot, VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!

in game use the setting in which the pad triggers would be throttle and break,

else the pedals wont work!!!!

Hi

Thanks so much for your clear and consice explanation. I feel it is here where I am doing something wrong. Can you explain how to make the pad triggers do that as you said?

Thanks again you're a big help not just for me but for the community.

in the optionsmenu>controller at the bottom there is an option

(prob i'm playing the german version so the definitions r all german!)

where u can get a picture of the pad in which all buttons r marked

with their respective funtions.

there u have 2 c that the triggers r throttle and break.

in the german version in the controllermenu i can choose between

standard and classic and it only works when standard is choosen.

ah right i forgot! in the control panel > game controller > g25

> properties u must use seperate axis, or u can do what u want

and it wont work

hope that helps.

if i'd knew how 2 take screenshots i'd just upload a pic,

but embarrasingly i dont blush.gif

dont tell me its the "PRINT SCREEN" button!?!??

ah and when u get it done tell me if the pedals feel like

the analog resolution is very low, feels like it's only 4 or 5

steps

should i make a little tut??

if there is need 4 1 plz let me know and i'll write one

I am so stupid! This fixed it!!! DANKE DANKE DANKE!!!

Private message me your email I will send you the program which takes screenshots and video and stuff.

I will try now to use the xbox360 emulator to "enable" the forcefeedback and hopefully that will turn off the spring. But for now I am going to sleep.

Thank you so much again!

Update: Yes, just as I suspected, the xbox360 emulator will block the center spring so you don't get interference. Works 100% Finally GTA4 can be played.

Few things I notice right away; camera is a little low, sometimes the brake light shall flicker - but otherwise I am pleasantly surprised because it is NOT BAD.

-Supported Wheels:

   -Driving Force Pro

Sure if you only want to go in reverse.... and constantly be in "aiming" mode when out of the vehicle.

Pedals are separate, using standard layout, not using profiler.

Corgi, could you possibly PM me a link to that xbox360 controller emulator you were speaking of?

I also noticed my Rumblepad 2 controller seems to stop responding for a fraction of a second at times.

Now I can't pilot the choppers very well. sad.gif

It worked fine before the update, now it works like ass.

Typical rockstar workmanship. Fix one thing, screw up another.

Any one knows how to remove that huge (20%?) deadzone on the X axis?

Dhatz

i got it to work, but it's still far from perfect.

next things we need:

all other keys should be bindable(you can try,but no effect)

no delay

no deadzone(or unlinearity or WTF?)

force freedback data from the game-I don't mean crash effects, but just changes in resistance of the wheel(it's so fake without them), ideally in the way SimBin do that.

Those of you complaining about the dead-zone and force feedback need to run the xbox360 emulator while having the wheel enabled. It runs perfectly (although you cannot bind keys).

i solved few key bindings with joytokey, but i found another 2 things to improve:

the camera is way too lazy

the turning angle decreases with speed.

Corgi, where do you mean enabled? (i have the FF set at 100 and the deadzone is more of nonlinearity for me)

Dead-zone and steering linearity are two diferend things.Dead-zone explains itself.

Linearity is the sensitivity around the center.Necessary for high rotation wheels.

A joypad needs to have such dead-zones,else it would be unplayable.I higly doubt Racer_S wouldn't include a dead-zone setting for the axes if it would be possible.

run the xbox360 emulator while having the wheel enabled

I don't undersand. How would I be able to run the emulator without my wheel enabled?

the turning angle decreases with speed

It's the "speed steering" in the handling.dat.U can change that to "0".

where have you seen such a parameter like speedsteer in handling?

OK I understand now. I have limited my wheel rotation to 300 degrees as opposed to full 900; this is how I use it with all my games...

I was thinking of the wrong game and wrong vehicle , I am deeply sorry for that.
