I'm having a problem getting my controller settings to save ever since I started using XLiveLess. The version I'm using is 0.999b7, and it is the first and only version I've used so far. Before XLiveLess, everything saved fine. I moved all my save files plus the ControlMap.dat file into My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames, so I can load my save files no problem but my controller settings won't save. I've tried to delete the ControlMap file and everything in C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings, but none of it has helped. I tried to uninstall GFWL but that didn't seem to do anything, yet If I remove XLiveLess and use GFWL again my controller settings save just fine. I also tried to completely reinstall the game but that didn't help. I'm out of ideas to try, any ideas what's causing this?

 

I have the retail version of the game with the 1.0.7 patch installed, and other than XLiveLess I have no other mods. My OS is Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3. Other than the controller settings not saving, I haven't noticed any other problems.

GTA IV - NO MENU FIX

 

 

Is your menu text gone after using an ASI loader such as xliveless ? If you have no menu buttons or your main menu is gone I have found the cause. The cause of the disappearing menu is a version mismatch on the following two files located in the "common\data" folder within your main GTA IV directory.

 

Fonts_r.dat

&

Fonts.dat

 

 

These files need to be replaced with the original files. After you do this GTA IV GTA IV's missing menu will reappear .

just downloaded xliveless..works perfect

 

before installing patch 6 the game experienced extreme lagging...slowwww

but after installing the patch it became faster but its not as fast as it should be even though i have nvidia 9500 gt 1Gb which i think is more than enough . can anyone help me with this?

Moreover and unfortunately...my old save games won't work...when i try loading them i get " load failed. please check your hard drive and try again later"

They go in the GTAIV folder. Not a plugins folder. At least that's where its working for me. Actually, I can only speak for scripthook.dll. The other one I've never heard of.

i would appreciate help on the following matter.

i have installed XLiveLess 0.999-beta7. it switched off xbox live perfectly (when i press "live" button in-game - nothing happens).

however, my savegames folder still is being created in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\user_1000100010001000

when i copied there my old savegames (created under offline account), it told me to check my hard drive, the files are corrupt.

 

my GTA IV version is 1.0.6.1 (russsian)

i'm on Windows 7 x64

 

as i've said, i would appreciate any help on this matter, it does not inspire me to go through all of it again.

Is your menu text gone after using an ASI loader such as xliveless ? If you have no menu buttons or your main menu is gone I have found the cause. The cause of the disappearing menu is a version mismatch on the following two files located in the "common\data" folder within your main GTA IV directory.

&

Fonts.dat

 

 

These files need to be replaced with the original files. After you do this GTA IV GTA IV's missing menu will reappear .

Ok, I have xliveless on 1.0.7. It let me load and play the game which solved my running issue. BUT it still wont let me mod my game at all. Idk if im missing otger programs I need or not. But I used SparkIV 6.9 to load a BMW 550i into the game to replace Romans Taxi. The game did load but the only thing that changed was the interior became texturless and pure white. Also it still would not let me edit the Handling.dat file. Aparently I am missing something. Please help. Thanks.

Ok idk wtf is wrong with xliveless but it needs to be fixed. It wouldnt let me run my game so I deleted the "xlive.dll" file from the main folder and copied it back in from my Xliveless folder. The game started AND loaded my car mod on the esperanto. So I exited the game to edit the handling.dat file. Then once that was done I went to play the game again and once again the game would not boot up. So this time I attepmted to delete the xlive file again and it would let me and wouldnt let me replace it. THEN it wouldnt let my PC restart or shut down. Idkwtf is goin on.

You're not gonna like it but, reinstall the game and back up the original files, then install the mods, then restore the original files over the mismatched ones.

They should be original. As far as I know I didn't install anything that would overwrite them. Unless it was one of the patches. If those links don't work, try removing the S after HTTP.

First of all, great work on the mod. Really awesome to be able to disable GFWL.

 

I was running IV 1.0.0.4 with Xliveless and mods fine for a long time, but I recently got Bioshock 2 which I had to update the GFWL for it to launch (since Xliveless didn't work with it). I installed GFWL version 3.4, now I can't play IV for long before it crashes to the desktop with a SMPA60 error.

I have problem with Simple Trainer v6.0. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit from few days and I installed back my GTA IV (patched to 1.0.4.0) and I used this xliveless to return my old saves. They work but when I tried to install the trainer appeared the problem that when the game load and I press start after seconds of loading GTA crashes and writes: "Grand Theft Auto IV stopped working, checking for solution".

I have the same problem , using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.

When I have only xliveless it works , but when I also install an asi file , the game crashes while loading(tried 1.0.3.0 , 1.0.4.0 , 1.0.0.4).I recently installed patch 1.0.4.0 to use with enb , but before that I had 1.0.7.0 and xliveless worked perfectly with asi files.

I hope somebody finds a fix to this.

I was just wondering. If you use xliveless does it disable GFWL, and if it does will you still be able to earn achievements?

Xliveless means no more GFWL so you do the math.

You can still do the achievements but I guess it won't be recorded anywhere that you completed them. I was able to do the helicopter under bridges achievement.

Hey Guys really need help here iam using the version 0.999b7 now and it works really fine for me but when i shoot the door knob on the SHADOW mission it just crashes to desktop what should i do?

 

and i know this shouldn't be here but may just ask a question how can i install and get it to work the simple native trainer 6.2 in my GTA IV 1.0.3.0 it always crashes to desktop after it loads my save game pls help me with this
