I'm using vista ultimate x64 for my development laptop, and unable to reproduce bug.  Which file did you started: GTAIV.exe or LaunchGTAIV.exe ? BlazeHoliday
if i use the launchgtaIV.exe I can't even get the game to start crashes instantly. Â if I use the gtaIV.exe I can get all the way to the loading at the bottom of the screen. When it says loading and says the last missions name. Â For the record I'm also using Alice with the superman mod. I'll try removing that. ANd I'm using a moddified launchgtaIV.exe by 1911. But I can try the original. Â Let me give it a whirl. Â EDIT: Still crashes with original .exe's in place and no alice in folder. Â I'm attemping to launch from the gtaiv.exe the launchgtaiv.exe tells me to put in disc...... which is abit of a problem. No mods or anything this was a clean gtaIV folder. Â BTW having trouble with that link getting .92 to download. BlazeHoliday
must be. Yeah I think I'll roll with .92 instead of the new one. Just cause I use the no-cd instead of actual "purchased" game.... until I can afford it! hehe  Anyone have a xliveless-0.92 version they can mail me? I need one and the links seem to not work anymore. Edited January 3, 2009 by BlazeHoliday
Cornflake
I must say I was really excited about using this. Finally something that will disable R* Social Club... and allow me to use any saves and not be required to login to XLive! Â ... Then I found out that once I save a game while using XLiveLess the saves will no longer work with the old XLive account I created them on. So now this is useless because my saves require that I need the XLiveLess DLL to play my saves at all (Please check hard drive error when loading otherwise). Just great. Â If only someone could just find a way to edit a save file to work with any account then there wouldn't be a need to hassle with copying ACCOUNT files, hex editing XLive files, or using custom DLLs
funk192
* all online functions are disabled (to prevent cheating in multiplayer) Can we at least enable LAN multiplayer mode? Seems a bit harsh disabling that mode as it won't conflict with people that cheat. Or can you not have LAN mode without Rockstar Games Social running? listener
 listener where are you? is it a possibility to make the xlive.dll use nocd as well?????? hehe Still trying to reproduce crash Yesterday, I bought new HDD, installed clean Vista ultimate 64, copy the game from the old HDD - and it works without any crashes.  However, I get game crashed, when I tried to run it from the old HDD - with tracing enabled, UAC turned on and without right to write in the game folder.  XLiveLess has been tested with "retail" Launcher and with RAZOR's one. Making no-dvd plugin is simple but illegal.   Can we at least enable LAN multiplayer mode? It's possible, but complicated enough. We can redirect all TCP/IP related functions (xlive_1..xlive_66) to WinSock32 (instead xlive), but all match-making functions (creating network game, finding host, etc) must be implemented from scratch

Rick already wrote about it: http://blog.gib.me/2008/12/20/hacking-gran...to-iv-part-iii/ Â Checksum of the savefile encrypted with live users's key. Only "real" xlive.dll can calculate correct checksum, so you need patch to load edited/non-xlive savegame.

Cornflake
Â Rick already wrote about it: http://blog.gib.me/2008/12/20/hacking-gran...to-iv-part-iii/ Â Checksum of the savefile encrypted with live users's key. Only "real" xlive.dll can calculate correct checksum, so you need patch to load edited/non-xlive savegame. Oh, okay. I didn't know it was covered on his page. Â On a side note, It's so ridiculous having all these keys and encryptions and the like for save files. Why lock them down like this? In a way I like being able to play this game on Live and get achievements, but the fact that you have to login every time to play saved games (if you use an online account) makes it pointless. About the only thing you could 'gain' by loading someone else's saves on your account are Achievements. But the achievements aren't even saved in the save files -- they're in .gpd file stoed in the directory of the XLive account. Â I'm not going to buy any other Live games if they are all tied down like this. I highly doubt I'm unable to play my Xbox 360 games if I can't login. So why isn't it that way on the PC?! durklives
Hey, first of all to the mods I accidentally "reported the post" when I meant to reply, forgive me. Â Is there anyway to use this to get GTA4 to save video clips to another hard drive other than my User Documents folder on C drive? My C drive only for 8 GB left, while I have over a Tb of space on other hard drives. I have GTA4 installed to F drive and I want it to save clips to F drive, but I can't change it. I can't make anymore clips now because my C drive is so small (reserved for system files and the like). I figure since you can move savegame files maybe you can move clip files too. Â Good job! FunGt
I tried XliveLess but the savegames doesn't work for me. Â That's what I did (before I had asi loader of alex): Removed xlive.dll by Rick from my GTAIV main folder. Copied xlive.dll into GTAIV main folder. Removed binkhooked.dll. Replaced binkw32.dll with the original one (190kb). Moved SGTA400 file from my user_--- folder in ..\local settings\appdata\ to Documents\Rockstar Games\savegames\ Â Ran the game, but doesn't load the savegame. It writes LOADING - MISSIONAME but it crash closing the game. Â What did I do wrong?
mabako
  * If you select "Live Guide" in the game menu, game will hang. Using   extern "C"  int __stdcall xlive_5215 (DWORD) {trace ("xlive_5215: XShowGuideUI\n");return 1;}   will stop the game from hanging, only play the sound and highlight the item.   *(BYTE *)(0x6B5FC0+dwLoadOffset) = 0xC3;  in patchCode() would work as well (as xlive_5215 is never called)

And the Social Club is even more sh*tter to enjoy the game. Just wanted to tell you: There are offline profiles in Live, so you don't need to be connected to play the game. The Social Club has an offline mode too, so please, get your facts straight. You only have to be online if you want to play multiplayer, or when you activate your game
