[REL|GTAIV] XLiveLess

Recommended Posts

can someone please explain this to me in lamens, i have just reformatted my comp and forgot to properly back up my save games. i dont want to play the entire game over again, i dont care about mods right now. i tried installing the game once before since last reformat and when i tried to download the 100% save game and xlivewrapper and everything the game got f*cked and wouldnt start at all. i have windows vista 64. i dont care about using my gameforwindowslive account, i just want to have a working 100% savegame preferably on 1.04 patch. i just reinstalled gta4 and havent changed anything.

I put the xlive.dll in the game folder, copied the save games to my documents, and it's telling me there's no save games on my HD.

Start a new game, save it, then go out to windows and search your HD for the save game file(SGTA400) that was just created. Where ever you find it, put your save games there. Just to be safe, search for SGTA*. The * will allow you to find any file that starts with SGTA.

has there been an alternative xlive thingy released?

cannot get my antivirus to stop caring about this file, and i do not know how to add trusted files and folders to it, using mcaffee ATT security suite.

i looked in the past few pages of this thread and it seems listener doesnt care about this anymore sad.gif

updated to 1040 after a fresh gta4 install

Solution: Uninstall McAffee

McAffee is one of the worst anti-viruses out there

For a useful suggestion, tell us what version you have. Try http://www.google.com/search?q=mcafee+add+exception

it let me extract all the other files in the file, so i tried using the xlive_d.dll file and renamed it to xlive.dll, put it in the gta main folder, and it worked, dont know if thats the way it should be, but i tested it with a save game file and it loaded ok from the looks of it

Hey guys, a buddy of mine is trying to use this, but it won't load my asi file for him. He's using Steam version 1.0.4, here's part of his log(US, Steam exe):

This is my (working) log(US, retail exe):

I'm guessing it's the wrong "base addy", but I could be completely wrong about that. Any ideas? Could I compile it myself and change the base in the source to what his handle returns?

Never mind, not what I thought it was. Carry on. biggrin.gif

any hint of what it was, I have the same problem.

Windows error 14001

// The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. ...

#define ERROR_SXS_CANT_GEN_ACTCTX 14001L

Looks like incorrect version of the msvcrt.dll (or other dll, required by the .asi )

I’m actually seeing error 126, but seems like the same thing, C runtime library missing.

Maybe putting this file (msvcrt.dll) directly into the game folder would help.

Thanks.
