I want to disable GfWLive but not Social Club. How can I do it?

Maybe if you ask Listener real nicely, he'll make a special version of the DLL that does that. Otherwise, I don't know.

 

 

Hi,

 

I'm having a problem using the xlive.ddl file..

The instant I run gta IV after copying the file into my gta root directory, it says "gta iv stopped working".

System features :  Windows Vista Ultimate, 32bit, SP2

 

The game worked perfectly before copying the file.

 

Did I do anything wrong or can someone help me?

Make sure the version of the DLL you're using is the right version for the patch you're using.

It works the same as XP and Vista. The folder where the savegames have to be moved to is slightly different. \users%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\

 

If all else fails as far as finding where the new savegame location is, start a new game, save it, and then go back out to Windows and search the "Users" folder for all instances of SGTA4 . The instance with most recent "Last Modified" time is located where the savegames have to be moved to.

I'm guessing it's the wrong "base addy", but I could be completely wrong about that. Any ideas? Could I compile it myself and change the base in the source to what his handle returns?

Do I move these three folders savegames folder, Settings and User Music to my documents/Rockstar Games folder and what do I do with this folder RGSC which is beside the GTA IV in my Application Data/Rockstar Games folder

 

I too get the virus warning from AVG but I'm ignoring it

hi there. this tweak works perfectly but my question is

 

how do i load my previous saved games (from an offline account)

 

before which is stored in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames

 

i have this folder inside: user_e00000d3b23ce414

 

how do i use my saved games inside after using this xliveless.dll

problem solved for me. i found it at "installation directory\savedgames"

 

im using windows 7. ^^ working great.

 

the only prob is. how to use usertracks. is it the same directory from

 

"%userprofile%\appdata\local\rockstar games\gta iv\usertracks"

 

and is there a way to make it only read a shortcut file for the music file.

 

and how do i use it for independence FM. ^^

I cant get it to work, give me error at the start of the game

You just have to copy the xlive.dll to your GTA IV folder. Do not do anything else.

After that, copy all your saves to the new location specified in the first post and you're set.

i cant get it work.. i just downlaoded the latest version and copied it to gta iV game folder. i disables DEP, added taht adware to ignore list in Norton.. game starts but i cant get that windows live screen when i press home button. and when i start game, it doesnt cross loading screen.. stops for long time at character popup screen.. pls help.

 

System Config:

 

GTA 4 Patch 1.0.3

 

Q9550 , 8GB Ram, 9800GT DDR3 1 GB, Vista x64...

Cant get it to work. It says its a virus after download is complete. Its not there!

 

Anybody know the fix?

Add the DLL to your virus program's ignore list.

I have done that and it still doesn't work. It's like it magically disappears.

Decided to try this again and figured out how to get a log xD.

Xliveless disables Windows Live

 

Someone else asked if there was a way to disable Windows Live but not RGSC (the opposite of what you want). Unless Listener(the developer of Xliveless) makes a special version of the DLL that lets you disable one or the other instead of both, I don't think so.

Why don't you use the debugging version of the DLL and see what the log says.

* to turn on debug logging, unpack the file xlive_d.dll into the game folder and rename it to xlive.dll

I can't load savegames. I was stuck on "Escuela of the Streets" and asked someone to pass that mission for me. When I got my gamesave back, it won't load. I downloaded Xliveless, placed the xlive.dll into the game folder. I start up the game, then try to load the gamesave and it gives me the "Load failed. Check your HDD" error. So what am I doing wrong?

 

I tried copying my gamesave folder to the new location(Documents\Rockstar games\etc...), but then it'll just a new game, so clearly it still loads from the App Data\Local\Rockstar and so on.

 

FYI, I use Vista and my GTA IV is not patched and never will be(unfixable TEXP70 error).

Fix for TEX70 Error Basically, uninstall the Nvidia graphics driver in safe mode.

 

As for the other problem, try the Xlive Wrapper.
