ddoodm
I don't know if this is a glitch or something to protect my PC from lagging. When I enter the options menu, I try to change the texture quality to the highest setting, but it only lets me set it to medium. The same applies with the draw distance, I can only set it to a max of 48. I have plenty of memory available, it is running full speed (except for the occasional memory leak) but it says that I'm using more memory than the computer can handle. ------------------------------------------------------- ****My Specs**** 2GB DDR2 ram (will be getting 4GB soon! ) NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX Intel Core 2 Extreme X9650 @ 3.000 GHz x4 ------------------------------------------------------- Please help -Ddoodm Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388502-gta-iv-texture-quality-limit/ Share on other sites
noVa
it's related to your video memory og which you probably only have 512mb, just consider yourself lucky that it runs well. Pikkuhippi
Use the commandline tricks. Create a commandline.txt file inside your GTA IV folder Use following lines inside the file -norestrictions -nomemrestrict That should fix your limit issue. However you should search the forums for more info! NOTE: It might also increase the amount of "popups, texture misses" you can also try to use -availablevidmem 2.0 (command instead of the following) this will make your system ram to function as vram. But once again, I find this to provide some extra stuttering on me ( Might work fine for you though! ) Edited December 29, 2008 by Pikkuhippi Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388502-gta-iv-texture-quality-limit/#findComment-1058821980 Share on other sites

creat3d22
Not sure how much VRAM the 9800 GTX has but you need at least 600mb to use the High textures...
