Vicetopia
Sapphire 4870 1 GB. Also own a Sapphire 3850, Diamond 3870, and ASUS 4850! Nvidia cards BFG 7950GX2 and eVGA 8800GTX. I'm probably taking my rigs back to Nvidia for the next generation of cards. Unless the HD5870 is something really special. Not a fan of ATI manufacturers and warranties. Might stick around for XFX's new ATI cards next year, though. Once they start spitting out the red cards, I bet they will sell out fast. ATI warranties pretty much suck, the only one worth a damn is VisionTek and they're too picky about the RMA process. The rest are all 1, 2, and 3 year. Eww... creat3d22
Many people don't believe me but I run the game at these settings:Texture Quality: High Render Quality: Highest All the sliders to the max at an average of 27-30FPS with a HD3870 512MB, 8GB RAM, C2D E8200 overclocked to 3,93GHz and an ASUS P5K Pro Motherboard. I use only -norestrictions in the commandline. They probably don't believe you because the High textures need 600mb of VRAM which is beyond your 512mb card. Sure, you can force it (so can I, on my 320mb) but your card can't keep up so you'll have a sh*tload of pop-ups and slow texture fade-in. Also, to everyone who does NOT have the Detail Distance at maximum, er why not? I haven't seen a single FPS drop with Detail at 100 and the difference is so worth it, I can't imagine playing with it any lower. Try it.

DRMetzger
Well I had an 8800 GTS 640 meg but I rma'd it to BFG,, just got it back today and to my surprise its an 8800 GTX OC 768 meg. About to shut down and throw the bad boy in, certainly a very nice surprise especially since my GTS was about as old as the 8800 series in general. manipulation0x
I'm running this killer EGA video card and getting 1000+fps with a whopping 16 tetrilion colors. Screw ATI and nVidia! lol. This game is so trashed it might run better on a 386 with 16bit windows. Right now I'm running it on a GTX 280 and I'm still getting RESC10 no matter how high or low I set my graphics settings. Chevyboy
E8500 @ 4Ghz 4870 512MB @ 810 / 1150 All max settings except visual distance @ 40 and 1680 x 1050 resolution. No stutters, very very minor popins (happens even on minimal settings, others with the issue have suggested it as a possible driver issue) and a very stable 35-45 FPS. Sometimes hovers near 55-60 but with actual action on the screen seems to level out near 40. Benchmark says 51.2 FPS last one I ran several weeks back but we all know that is about as meaningful as the specs of a machine running GTA4
