Poor performance - possibly the editor?

I too am getting rather poor performance for the system I have. I was about to reinstall the game, but before I did I was backing up all the files, and found the video captures to be rather huge files. I was under the assumption they were demos, not actual video files. Regardless of what they are, if the game is constantly keeping record of the previous 30~ seconds to memory for when the user presses F2, wouldn't that mean it's sucking up a lot of resources for this? Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the editor?

You can turn the 30 sec recording thing off. But it doesnt change much. Maybe 1 fps more.

Bleh, well there goes that theory, lol.

AMD Athlon X2 4600+

BFG GeForce 8800GTS 640MB

2GB RAM

WD 320GB SATA HDD

Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit

in the OPTION -> GAME , there is a toggle to turn the video capture on and off.

But I don't notice any performance boost.
