[Q | help] enable rag doll on being shot

i managed to start the ragdol when shot by cops and other f*cks! makes everything equal!

makin a video after ill finish testin stuff cool.gif

 

 

 

i set the damage type to FIRE for all the weapons and added:

 

 

  hfOrientateBodyToFallDirection  true balanceLeanDirApplyAsForce        true shotStablizeHandsAndNeck        true

 

 

in taskParams.txt under NMONFIRE {

and tweaked some numbers there.

we need to set the damage type to COLLISION or somn like a physical carhit...

any ideas?

 

edit:

our answer lays in 'action_table.csv' the 'Prefer Ragdol' flag moto_whistle.gif

so u mean that niko will be affected by ragdol when hit? AWESOME!!!

 

im not sure if it will really feel good until i will try it but i was always hoping to feel the impacts of bullets more.

 

right now i get shot and dont even know it. only later i look at the health meter and find out it has been decreased.

 

with ragdol for niko it will for certain make the affect i was hoping for.

Well it would help if you actually mentioned what method you are using to do this.

 

Looks like there are several functions you could use with alice to accomplish this, i didn't try any of them yet though.

If it's ragdoll by bullets, why did you say on button press in the thread title?

 

Also, falling over each time you're shot looks like it will get very frustrating when trying to actually play.

 

If you can get it on button press then that's great, but there's already a thread on that so it'd be better off in there.

maybe it will be completed/release after some Actions Table editor will be released turn.gif

alternatively - if any1 could find all the Damage Types... (maybe by memory documentation) and set to something like IMPULSE.

the other post talks about LUA script making the player act like drunk and fall down some stairs and this one is about making a more realistic combat system by changing the weapons (if any1 else feels bad about TWO topics with the name ragdoll =\ )

well both topics discuss ragdoll physics with a keypress etc, i just figured that sharing knowledge within 1 topic was generally agreed upon as the best way to share information, and given you'd already posted in there it could have been a place to share your own findings instead of starting a new ragdoll topic.

i think THIS idea is completely ddifferent than the one in the other thread.

 

hippie's idea is more about gameplay than nonsense stuff. this is why im so eager to try his mod. im much more into stuff that changes the way the game plays than stuff that just create funny \ silly moments.

 

hippie, if u can link me (through a PM or here on this thread) to the way your mod is right now, in it's alpha stage, i would LOVE to test it and reply with some feedback.

i've been waiting for some talented bastard to figure out a way to do what u did and im impatient to see if it's actually contributing to the combat rather than annoying.

It needs to be more of a drunken effect than just then ragdoll like at 1:09 in the vid was perfect. I very much want this mod! Maybe you could make it only happen when shot in the head or legs... i don't know whats possible so don't take my ideas too seriously.
