i wonder what does the YTD file format stands for... "You're too dumb(to decrypt)"?

If so, then it's "you're too dumb (to assume a file extension is a insult) "

i wonder what does the YTD file format stands for... "You're too dumb(to decrypt)"?

#TD means Texture Dictionary.

In RAGE for resources files first char in extension is an platform identificator.

  • X - Xenon (xbox360)
  • С - Cell (ps3)
  • W - Windows (32bit)
  • D - Durango (xboxOne)
  • O - Orbis (ps4)
  • Y - Windows (x64)

You asks why "Y" for Windows X64 ? Because both W & X already taken.

Patch coming to GTAV tomorrow, might just be for Social Club, but ehh, timing was just too good, so gather what you can for now just in case we get locked out again.

No it still works. That being said i hope we will be able to edit the files soon. Otherwise GTA V modding is pretty much a no-no.

Edited my message regarding first person. It's too soon to start to mess around with that until we can edit.

I hope we can fix that retarded arcade-ish handling. It makes me cringe to see vehicles drives like a brick.

Handiling will be an easy task to change once editing ability is added in OpenIV.

@ GooD-NTS,

Are you or someone in your team thinking about how to ethically mod? How do we prevent to ruin the regular online experience by mods that will be used to have a unfair advantage in GTA Online. Faster cars, more ammo, stronger cars and other mods that will be made soon.

Don't understand me wrong, I love mods and can't wait before we can really start.
But I also remember GTA IV MP, it was ruin quite fast for me when people started to use mods against others without mods.

Rockstar didn't make it us easy. But I really think we can overcome that and have a great mod scene without braking GTA Online. There most be other ways to have a mods online. A own mod multiplayer function NTS is working on that or other own lobby system in GTA Online (like what they did later on in GTA IV MP, but it was little to late then).

You and your team have the cards in hand.
use your powers wisely!

We should wait until we can actually modify the said .rpf files before making such big assumptions.

I think it's not bad to talk about it before someone opens Pandora's box.
But don't understand me wrong, I also want the editing capacity's of OpenIV to make and use mods.

GTAV sure has really amazing textures! Vehicles interiors also look damn very good! I see the vehicles also has a +hi.ytd or _hi.ytd.

High likely the ones with hi contains the high quality interior for FPV. I can't wait for Oleg to make a import filter for zmodeler3!

Man, you guys are the best! You really make GTA-modding much more alive! Thank you a lot!

Interior from the Carbonizzare sport car, for example, can also be the Sultan, Vigero, Dominator, Rapid GT, Stinger GT, Peyote, Huntley S, Stretch, Stanier, Bodhi, Kalahari, Comet, Feltzer, Vehicle Details, Rancher XL and Bobcat XL

So I see you guys have been having fun exploring the game files.

Have you found anything that controls the following?

-Loading map modifications such as interiors, yacht, aircraft carrier, North Yankton, Christmas Tree, GTA Online apartments, High End apartment Heist updated exterior, etc...

-Parked vehicle spawning

-Event spawns (AI aircraft, animals, etc)

There is a whole sh*tload of contents in all those amazing files, I've been looking an entire hour at all the textures lol.

They are very amazing!

I am also trying to look for these like Christmas Tree and so on. I found North Yankton, it's in x64c.rpf.

It's all called plg, which is logical because of the first mission, the Prologue.

I'll try to make time for requested textures.

GooD, does OpenIV has a limit size for opening files? There are several .ytd files of 16MB and when I try to open it, it says file is corrupted.

I was digging around and found it. I think that doing things like loading the heist yacht, heist aircraft carrier, interiors, and North Yankton may be controlled via script. But I'm wondering if it is at all possible to make them not be controlled by a script. Just be part of the normal map files so it loads by default. Regarding my wanting for bringing linear content to be available all the time, I want to do the following stuff.

-Enable all interiors. Hopefully peds can be in them too. For example, if you go into Vanjellico Jewelry Store, the lady behind the counter is there, the guy that opens the door for you is there (not that I can't open it myself, just would be nice to bring life to some of the interiors), etc...

-Make all map activation not be enabled during missions so the mission will control them. To keep the story playable as there might be technical problems on missions that use map modifications.

-Enable heist yacht with interior.

-Enable heist aircraft carrier with interior. It would need to have the water waves around the aircraft carrier to be calmed down. It does that in the heist. Otherwise it is like a wave pool in the back (which is actually quite fun).

-Enable North Yankton. Though, temporary, this especially should be toggable. It is unrealistic when you are not in North Yankton and you see it floating in the distance. So later on down the road, some scripting can enable it to be more realistic. Basically, you walk into a marker at the Airport. It shows an airplane taking off, then you are in North Yankton in a snow car. All the AI's have a snow car too. The radar is the North Yankton radar. Cars have Yankton plates, etc... There is a marker that you go into which will show a video of a plane landing at the LS airport, and returns you to LS. Maybe when custom map modding takes off for this game, people will remodel the parts of the map you see in the distance so they are high quality when you go up to them.

-Working lifts at construction site.

-JB 700 with spike strips, guns, and ejector seat (would only have a use in Online, but we would need a custom GTA Online for this).

-Wear flippers to make you swim faster.

-Cargo Plane accessible. Scripting added to make it so you can open and close back and side doors, and enter it by walking through the plane, climbing up the ladder, and going into the cockpit.

-Drivable Train mod (like in the mission.)

-Skylift with working magnet. (Also Cargo Bob with attached magnet)

-Work the crane at the docks like in the mission.

-Working elevator in FIB building and Humane Labs.

-Working Nitro.

I have posted this list many times, along with the migration of SP content to MP which would enable things like the ragdoll button, ai planes, animals, etc... The past GTA games had content that was only doable in missions, like interiors, etc... But it wasn't as much as V.

Right now, all I can think of is:

-GTA III had working lifts at the construction site (but only in cut scenes), and no free roaming with RC vehicles

-GTA VC, I think the part of the bank where the volt was is not accessible in free roam. and no free roaming with RC vehicles

-GTA SA had a few interiors that were not accessible in free roam. It also had the car that drops spike strips and the heli magnet and no free roaming with RC vehicles.

-GTA LCS had like two interiors that were not accessible in free roam. It also had the underground tunnels which was a big chunk of map that was not accessible (part of it via glitch, but the other part didn't load). It also didn't have any flyable heli spawns (which I added with mods), and no free roaming with RC vehicles.

-GTA VCS had the drivable Demestobot, a few interiors, the Sea Sparrow, and the heli magnet inaccessible.

-GTA IV had working elevators inside the Projects, and the Majestic hotel. It also had a few locked interiors.

-GTA TLAD had a few locked interiors, hitting people with bats on you're bike, announcers at airport, gates at airport all missing from free mode.

-GTA TBOGT had walking on top of trains, working Skylift, Nitro, a functioning Bahama Mamas, a few locked interiors, and the yacht missing in free mode. However, MP did make up for that by unlocking all the interiors from IV, TLAD, and TBOGT, along with spawning the yacht in MP Free Mode, however, you couldn't blow it up.

-GTA CTW had two interiors, and flyable helicopters missing in free mode.

-GTA V/GTA Online: The stuff I mentioned before. GTA V has more stuff that is only available in missions and not in free mode than all the other GTA's combined. So the game is going to change a lot more when adding the content via modding. There might be something else missing that was in the last two heists which I have not played yet.

GTA V has a lot of natives which will add to the free roam game play.

Also, @NTS: Just out of curiosity, is there anything where models, textures, animations, object spawn cords, etc... could bee extracted from RDR? It would be nice if the Red Dead Redemption map could be brought to GTA V where you have the weapons, peds, animals, and you can ride horses. Would be nice as RDR isn't on PC, so PC could at least enjoy many elements of the game's free roam game play in GTA V in a TC.

Dominator : http://imgur.com/a/xUyDX

Feltzer : http://imgur.com/a/0dP7W

Peyote : http://imgur.com/a/duHNk

RapidGT : http://imgur.com/a/An6nD

StingerGT : http://imgur.com/a/Nw7sI

Sultan : http://imgur.com/a/EQk6T

I skipped some since i wasn't able to found them. They're probably in other archives, or in the same one but with a different name (for example some vehicles, like bikes, aren't named by their ingame name but "rapidbike" instead, also some interiors are reused from cars to cars), too lazy to search them all, sorry, but this should give you a rough idea.

The dials (speed counters and such) are interesting, i think they're tied to a script, which triggers the movements of the said elements on the counter.

Path for most of them : x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf

Anyway, what is stopping "us" from editing, currently ? Encrypting the files back ? I don't get it, all in all i just want to know if you guys (OpenIV team) will be able to sort this out in an acceptable timeframe.

That texture has been in the game since the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 release. And AGENT is still likely being worked on - North can't exactly work on it at full speed with GTAV/Online in the way.

Even if almost each time you're releasing a new version of OpenIV I don't take the time to,
I need to thank you again, GooD-NTS and OpenIV team!

Some funny things can be found, if you're looking for keywords like "test", "unused", or even "niko":

x64v.rpf\textures\script_txds.rpf\mpweaponsunusedfornow.ytd: (notice the "unused for now").

ibkzgoN6dRZ2cp.jpg

w_am_digiscanner, w_meleelasso_01 (like in RDR?), w_am_fire_exting, w_am_loudhailer.

x64v.rpf\models\cdimages\streamedpeds_mp.rpf:

Some unused(?) MP characters, such as John Marston, Dead Hooker (!), ...

ibzuMvkbCGXG1C.jpg

(I don't think they are for the character creation bonus, as we never see the whole body nor even the face of John or Niko).

When searching for "horse", you can find:

update\x64\dlcpacks\mpheist\dlc.rpf\common\data\ragdoll\ragdoll_type_horse_new.xml

It is interesting, because even if horse was findable in the original PS3/X360 release version of the game,

this file is in the latest Heist DLC, and is called "horse_new"!

Sorry if it is not the place to talk about such things!

BTW, I can't wait to see the possibility of watching cutscenes with freecam!

Well, I'm not sure but you can find many cutscenes elements when searching for "cutscene"

with the global search (ctrl+F3), such as "x64c.rpf\anim\cutscene".

Unfortunately, we can't open them (yet).

Hey guys, is this a bug with GTA V or Open IV. I installed GTA V and I can play the game, but unless I right click on the icon and go to file-location, the folder is hidden and does not show up in the "Rockstar Games" folder. I have even set the folder option to "view hidden folders", yet I still cannot view the folder, unless i click the icon and "go to file location"

This is Rockstar duty to protect GTA Online, not mine.

And for now they do it quite well I guess.

GooD, does OpenIV has a limit size for opening files? There are several .ytd files of 16MB and when I try to open it, it says file is corrupted.

No, it doesn't, but currently we have issues with opening some files. So, if you see any of them please do not forget to report file name here.

We do not have time and resources to support yet another game in OpenIV.

The new encryption algorithm is "stopping" "us" from editing. Actually I don't even test any editing yet.

What do you mean "acceptable timeframe" there is just a few days (not even a week) after game released and you expect us to make all features in two days? This is a joke or what?

Ignore that GooD. You guys work on the time-frame you need to - MOST of us appreciate it at least.

I'm currently trying to see if I can get a scripthook working (for native trainer, etc). I'll post when I make progress worth posting about. So far no issues with OpenIV.
