Right now just the ability to view/listen to textures/text/audio is all we need to start getting some work done, especially in the case of the removed music stuff, etc, that will keep me busy for a few hours and is something people want to read.

They cut the music? Again? Only 1.5 years after release? Or am I just missing something?

Okay I know it won't be an easy task to access models and textures but since they got access to the files, can we at least replace the handling data for now?

Oh man oh man oh man you guys are the GREATEST.

How soon do you think we can start swapping in modded .meta files? All I care about right now is a realistic driving mod.

Okay guys, we know you are excited to see modding in GTA V but upcoming OpenIV release will be lack of editing features. We are do everything we can do release it as soon as possible.

Please keep in mind it is not easy to do it now. As I say earlier Rockstar is trying to prevent modding at all because they too much cared about GTA Online and I guess shark cards.

The PC version of GTA V is used new encryption algorithm, I don't know what exactly it called so I name it "Rockstar Annoying Encryption Algorithm".
At the current time we can only decrypt data so that is the reason we can't provide editing features in upcoming update.

We are work day and night to make things possible. Please do not forget that OpenIV is not only my [GooD-NTS] achievement, we have a team here. Listener and Alexander Blade worked for two nights in a row to reverse encryption algorithm, while me and Chipsman are implementing support for new archives and integrates new algorithms into OpenIV code.

Sorry I can't answer to all messages now.

Ow man, I truly appreciate it what you guys are doing! I am speechless!

I want to convert the snowy GTAV textures to GTA SA and make it a new wintermod and of course all those new nice cars!

I'd like to donate some $$$ to you guys for what you are doing :)

I really appreciate it.

Yep, they are broken. They were fine earlier, though.

You can check the Facebook page if you want to check them out.

EDIT: They show up again

I remember I expressed my concern over GTA IV modability 2 years or so. I expected it could be hardly moddable.

RPF archives got opened, that's good.

The feature of GTA doesn't look bright.

Now, what if R* will decide to remove filenames from the next game GTA VI and leave hashes only?

What if there will be no filenames in GTA VI ?

... filenames have been deliberately left in, if you want a lack of filenames you should talk to Rockstar San Diego.

Inactive in GTA/R* title modification indefinitely pursuant to a court order obtained by TTWO. Good job acting against modding!

Eh, Midnight Club 3 and LA Remix were somewhat easy enough to get into. then again they were older R*SD games...

Nope, it's a dll memory hack-overrides existing dll, just like ENB. It does not change anything in .rpf files.

So does this mean we can extract textures, models, ect but cant import yet? I'd be OK with that for now

OpenIV 2.5 for Grand Theft Auto V PC

Okay, no big speeches today, right to the business. OpenIV 2.5 first release with support PC version of GTA V. Currently you can only view files, edit features are not available now. You can open archives and textures, the other resources will come later. The audio playback is also not available now. Please keep in mind it is just a beginning. Full list of changes is available here.

Patch coming to GTAV tomorrow, might just be for Social Club, but ehh, timing was just too good, so gather what you can for now just in case we get locked out again. :p

So we still have 'regular' and _hi versions of texture archives, but this time they both have mipmaps. Are the 'regular' ones used for the 'Normal' texture quality setting or something?

Probably, yes.

They all are larger, so I guess^^

Or when you are not close, load the low graphics, when getting closer load medium en when you are really close load the +hi texture. Maybe it's something like that?
