julionib you need use full file path in RPF archives.

So, if your case it will be:

<content gameID="IV" name="Install 2" description="Install the script"> <archive:open path="pc\models\cdimages\playerped.rpf" createIfNotExist="False" type="RPF2"> <add source="content\Models\to IV\playerped edit\feet_000_u.wdr">/feet_000_u.wdr</add> </archive:open> </content>

perfect

so, the wrong line dont have the "/" before the inserted file name:

<add source="content\Models\to IV\playerped edit\feet_000_u.wdr">feet_000_u.wdr</add>

correct is:

<add source="content\Models\to IV\playerped edit\feet_000_u.wdr">/feet_000_u.wdr</add>

there is a option to add some kind of Try Except ignoring errors during setup? In some cases i need to check if user has a determined line and then remove, but when the line dont exists i get error

Hi! I came across with a small issue in OpenIV. I tried openIV .oft import/export option. I noticed that some areas where normal map should be are gone when exporting a car to oft and importing back to wft not even changing anything in the files. Like for example the mirrors, originally they do reflect but after re-import they don't. Diffuse map seems to be ok.

Have been using OpenIV for a really long time and i love it :)

(Just want to asking)

So yesterday, when i do my usual things, modding IV.... my house power was down when i was rebuild some .img
After some checking afterwards, the .img wouldn't open (Which is no big deal... i have backup)

Since i have to save my HDD
Is rebuilding .img in OpenIV using some temp folder? if yes, where is it?

I'm afraid some leftover from the last rebuild times is still exist and maybe have to be deleted

Any respond will be apreciated

Thanks for advance :)

I will think what I can do here.

Probable I know why this happens. Few weeks ago we found big issue in openFormats.

In the .mesh files which represents vertex buffer the fourth component of Tangent value is not used, so after import it always equal zero.

This issue will be fixed in next update.

Check your temp folder: C:\Users\[userName]\AppData\Local\Temp\

ATTENTION

In the next release OpenIV - 1.6 the version of *.mesh files in openFormats for GTA IV models will be changed.

This will affect all models - .odr/.odd/.oft

The changes affect TANGENT value in vertexes. The changes are necessary because now it all not work right and we can't fix it without formats changes.

Warning:

* Current version of scripts/tools will not be able to work with new formats. (Updates are required from scripts/tools authors)

* OpenIV will not work with old formats. (You need use updated scripts/tools)

Remember this, because OpenIV will automatically updated to latest version when it arrives.

Yeah, but that would mean waiting for 3Doomer or Alex to update their Max scripts. :/

Can you explain how this affects the 3d models for the layman?

Yeah, but that would mean waiting for 3Doomer or Alex to update their Max scripts. :/

They already work to make updates for their scripts.

The Normal mapping will work on models.

Well, they do as far as I observed when I imported a bunch of models back to the game, except for the fact that in some cases they don't show up as they should.

FIXED TANGENTS FINALLY! GooD, I could kiss you. Honestly never thought I'd see that fixed, thank you very much for putting the time into it.

Normal maps technically have "worked" for ages, but any exported models do indeed have problems. Of course it doesn't fix the problem that 95% of the people who port models have very little knowledge about normal maps and usually leave the channels inverted that make them look awful/incorrect.

Have you/3Doomer had any progress with ODR in Max Payne 3 per chance?

Not yet, it is one of the top of plan, but still no progress.

c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\local\new technology studio\apps\openiv\d3dx9_33.dll

You have d3dx9_33.dll in your OpenIV folder. OpenIV is unable to work with this dll.

Thanks for the reply Good. :)

My brother told me this problem a few times last few years, now I know it is actually a real problem. By the way, what exactly do you mean not work properly in openFormats? I want to know how obvious the change is between old openFormats normal maps and this new one.

First look at Grand Theft Auto V files

GooD, do you plan on releasing the sounds of GTA V? The official soundtracks never have the same music played in-game. :/ I still enjoy listening to the RDR music you released.

There are other ways to get them, there's even a tool released on a previous page for the PS3 version of the game to dump the audio as is in MP3 form. The dynamic tracks are 8 tracks each (16 files, Left and Right for each Track) and the game mixes them on the fly, by having these files you can mix your own versions, pretty fun to do and mess around with. :)

Yeah, I tried that tool out on a random awc file somebody uploaded and it works great. I actually have the PS3 version of GTA V too, unfortunately my PC doesn't have a blu-ray drive. :sui: It's extremely fun playing with audio from Rockstar's games. I have a 30GB folder filled with nothing but audio I've extracted with programs like SAAT and OpenIV, still listen to it everyday!

would it be unrealistic to ask for an embedded textures importer ??

They not render correct now, I hope 3Doomer will show "old VS new" screens soon.

You will no need to change anything in your models, just re-export it with new scripts from 3Ds Max.

Can you be more specific in you request please?

I mean, I don't even know what game you talking about :)

I was told to come here for support on this little issue I keep running into with OpenIV.

So, my OpenIV works fine except for one thing. I can't actually browse textures or view any models what-so-ever. If I was to do so, it simply greets me with a completely grey screen I can't navigate around at all. I've been experiencing this for a few weeks now, it used to be just fine.

I noticed an older build of OpenIV works just fine, though, this doesn't give me access to Max Payne 3 so it's quite troubling for I need it. I'd greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me on this.

FYI; it happens on all games. GTA IV, EFLC and Max Payne 3.
