Mod Made with this tool smile.gif

Thanks you GooD-NTS

Something just doesnt seem very ethical about that, I spose its just another way Niko gets "wanted by the cops", he has been quoted as saying "its an ugly city" lol Actually by changing some values in files I did have lady peds driving cop cars, some were male peds too ..

Seriously, this is a GREAT program Good-NTS, Ty for all the hard work I kept up w/ it on your site..

I've yet to get busy w/ it but I love the shots other users have been submitting, some are very creative and comical!

I wanted to ask, anyone, how you edit images that are on such a small scale, for example, license plates are tiny & if you enlarge them in a photo editor, the text is unreadable, everything is blocky, is there some other program used for this or special settings that need to be applied ?

Wanted to add, I was having some graphical problems w/ the program, and I found it is WB windowblinds that was causing that, someone else mentioned this too..

Hey, I just reinstalled the game, and now I'm trying to apply the old face texture that I used instead of Niko's original one. I used it before, so I know it works. I opened OpenIV, playerped.rpf, pressed "Edit" on the head texture and replaced it with my one. When I start the game, he still has the old face, but the new texture still shows up when I press the file in OpenIV. Why is this? Can someone help me out here?

I don't remember doing anything but that to make it work the last time. So I'm not sure what can be the problem.

After editing 2 vehicle png's, then replacing them in vehicles.img, I was gonna try to "save", the option was not available so I tried to rebuild, it then stopped after abit and gave the error.. Now I cannot "view" textures, save content, nothing and my pc shows a "memory leak" error so notify.gif I've never seen any of these errors..

I used open IV previously, no issue..

I'm not running open IV from w/in the game directory, whereas I was previously, if that makes a difference ?

Something has changed .. I've noticed I dont have an "edit" when I choose to open a specific .wtd w/ edit .... There is only save image, save all ..

I'm curious if there is recurring "unknown" errors or this prog is at times specific w/ desktop changes or something rampage_ani.gif I jus disabled "themes" which I had reg vista enabled, then tried classic, no change, now w/ themes service disabled, I opened the prog and its displays edit features for textures ... rolleyes.gif

u can't open textures in open4 after save in spark4

spark4 has a bug (or not a bug ?! lol) that many decompression tools can't decompress files compressed by spark but game can

Well, how do I get the real face texture? One that isn't transparent?

Have you tried editing the transparent one and seeing if that works?

Well, it's all transparent, so I can't really see it. It's barely visible.

Cheap trick I use.

Open it in Txdworkshop then export both layers as separate bitmaps.

Then when you are done create a new txt using txdworkshop again, set it to have alpha in texture properties and import your new pictures. One on texture slot and the alpha on the alpha slot.

Then export it as a png. Job done. wink.gif

Open what in txdworkshop? The wtd?

Extract the texture to png then open it in txdworkshop.

Oh, I get it now. Thanks.

How can you import the texture to txdworkshop without opening any of the img archives? ;/ I don't have GTA3,VC or SA installed, so I can't do it. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

EDIT: nvm I got it working

u can't open textures in open4 after save in spark4

spark4 has a bug (or not a bug ?! lol) that many decompression tools can't decompress files compressed by spark but game can

I've not used Spark IV..

I had used open IV b4, then due to some errors in my game from other programs I had used, I removed open IV, all progs and all the changes I had made to all files.

I then later put Alice (Ty again) back in (only using "superman"). I have my other files like pedpersonality etc edited as b4..

I then used open IV las night to try to edit some tail light lenses. I did so by saving content, the "edit" function was not available, you know when you enter "edit mode", dbl click say "blista.wtd" its post to open and show you the individual png files where you can save them to a folder from there or replace and save them..

That was NOT there the first time I opened the program and tried to edit so I saved content, edited then tried to right click "blista.wtd" "replace" but there was no way to save that change then, I thought I had to hit rebuild, then got that error after it tried rebuilding..

From then on, other functions were unavailable that is, I'd receive that error.

So, I replaced the vehicles.img file, open IV would then open it again w/ out error..

I decided to try something, I tried changing my desktop theme to any of the vista themes, it was already on a default vista theme, no change. I remember the first time I used open IV, I AND someone else had problems seeing buttons w/ "windowblinds" type themes, mine was alienGUI WB..

I uninstalled that theme the first time I used open IV, but las night I decided to open services and disable themes completely, open IV displayed all buttons/functions at that point, BUT my changes are not showing up ingame. I'm not sure yet but it may be my changes are not significant enough to realize..

Updating: I guess I spoke too soon, w/ themes enabled/disabled, no matter what theme, I just opened it abit ago, first time since last night and its back to the way it was, no edit/replace/change level buttons visible in edit mode, ... Well atleast that MAY be the problem w/ the change not showing up ingame is that its "level" is set to high but now I can't even edit that since its button is not visible, something tween the prog and my pc is fubar ..

I guess no one else is having these problems ..

Well as I'm really bored at home so I started to make a translation. Now OpenIV is available on Spanish/Castilian, at least it should be in a couple of days. See ya!

P.S: I can't change "English" (above the flag) why?

Is there going to be a new version for the new GTA IV patch? smile.gif This doesn't work anymore, unfortunatly. sad.gif

To be specific, it tells me OpenIV can not work because important information wasn't obtained from the GTAIV.exe. Please, set the correct path etc.

Actually, I just noticed it works fine aslong as you set the path to somewhere were you have the unpatched game (or maybe just the exe), I had made a copy of it before patching, so I can just point OpenIV to that directory and use it to edit the patched game without any problems whatsoever. smile.gif
