I'd really like distantlights.dat to be reversed, so we can make far LOD traffic. And also fragments if 3Doomer is still interested in updating GIMS  :)
Oh and there is also this thing that when changing a name that has capital letters in it, you cannot change it to the same name without capital letters. It will just reverse back to capital letters

I've got a carcols.meta file that makes use of a sirensetting with an id of 7714. The carvariations file has no issue there with it being assigned to a vehicle. Does this 255 limit only apply to the ymt version specifically?

By my knowledge Id for siren settings in both carvariations and carcols files is one byte value, meaning it can't be more than 255. This is what we see in schema inside PSO/YMT files and I belive the same is in the game code.

The fact that you can put any value inside an META/XML version is just because the game probably do not validate those values while reading.

Because it is the same name.

Latest version of OpenIV seems to take considerably longer to boot up. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no change.

EDIT: NVM, seems it was due to Acronis True Image's active protection module. Turning it off fixed the long loading times.

Hi, my gaming is crashing in the loading screen due the openiv.asi:  https://puu.sh/Crsey/217336c566.png

The error message says: "Insufficient game memory. Please reboot the system and then the game."
*I conclude that openiv.asi is the problem by testing file by file. When I delete it, the game loaded normally.
**Already played in the past with all mods I have at this moment and worked, but now...

When you removes OpenIV.ASI the game will not load "mods" folder. Your game crashes because of the files you have in "mods" folder.

Windows 10 Pro 1803

When I download the 3.1 installer and click continue (since I want it in english) I get a white windows for a few seconds and then it just disappears with no download, no error message, no terms & agreements etc.

I've tried with firewall and A/V off, no difference, I've tried Win7 and Win8 compatibility mode, no difference. Then I checked event viewer:

EDIT: I updated to 1809 and now the installer suddenly works. Weird. I did do a C:\sfc /scannow but everything was in order so I don't know why it didn't work in 1803.

OpenIV Services:

As you already might notice we are experiencing serious issues with our server. Our hosting provider really f***ed up and they are seems to be not capably to resolve current issues. We will move to new provider during this week, hopefully everything will be better soon. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for understanding.

We will keep you up to date about the migration process.

OpenIV Update on the server situation:

The site with files (http://ntscorp.ru/) is moved to a new server. DNS should be updated by now, but it might need some time to see changes in your region/network. OpenIV Installer and updates should work fine.

@OpenIV Team Will the next version of OpenIV have any changes to the way it does texture compression? I have an issue where importing certain textures results in red or green tinges. It's especially noticeable with stuff like dark clothing.

Of course you will see a degradation in quality, DXT is lossy texture compression.

OpenIV does not convert textures into DXT by itself but rely on DirectX for this task. You can try to convert your textures with other specialized tools that might provide a better result and import DDS into OpenIV.

It's not about quality degradation, it's about the texture colours changing entirely with red or green hues. And it's incredibly inconsistent. Some textures barely change in appearance when compressed, whereas others get absolutely butchered.

Soon (on November 5) Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC will be released. My question is: Is it possible to increase some visualization and model editing tool, extraction and view texture packages like in GTA V and GTA IV and the other compatible games?
