Guest Posted September 18, 2017 I seem to be having an issue regarding Symbolic Links but only in a certain function. As you can see from this image, I currently run six versions of GTAV across three drives and all work fine. However, only one version will let me search the game files. Version 1080 (or whatever is the latest version) runs from the parent folder with no linking involved and that will search fine. But any other version will fail with a EDirectoryNotFoundException: The specified path was not found error. This isn't a critical issue, as I can switch to any version without running it, so I can just switch and search in the latest version. But I just wanted to mention it as I saw that a previous issue with symbolic links had been cured, so thought this might be a fix in a similar manner to that. I seem to be having an issue regarding Symbolic Links but only in a certain function...We will look into this issue. is there an eta on supporting open format of yft cars, dynamic objects ?We cannot provide any ETA on any functionality. When it's done. Use menu "File > Open folder…" and select folder you want to open. Selected folder will appear at the end of the list in navigation tree.Delete confirmation dialog: OpenIV will now show you delete configuration dialog, it will help you to avoid accidental removal of game files. You can disable this feature in OpenIV configuration.Grand Theft Auto VWe added support for carvariations.ymt file We added support for vfxvehicleinfo.ymt file You can edit those files using inbuilt OpenIV Text editor or export them to META/XML format.Grand Theft Auto IVWe fixed an issue where wrong High Level Code was generated in SCO Viewer.General changes, improvements, and fixesWe fixed an issue where it was impossible to use context menu on travel buttons (Back/Forward) when history list contain many items. We fixed an issue where some users might get "Unable to initialize Windows DirectX subsystem" fatal error message. We added ability to use keyboard arrow keys to navigate through shaders information in models viewer. We made minor visual changes in "More information" dialog in models viewer. We fixed an issue where users might see "Confirm edit mode" dialog while creating archive in edit mode. We changed keyboard shortcut for creating new archive from "Ctrl + N" to "Ctrl + Shift + N". We added ability to use "Ctrl + N" keyboard shortcut for creating new archive in current location (Same as "Ctrl + D" for folder). We fixed an issue where status bar does not updates when items are added or removed. We fixed an issue resulting in unexpected behavior when double-clicking on group header in file list. You now can use "Shift + Delete" keyboard shortcut for permanently deleting files while using Recycle Bin (This works for files on disk not for files in archives). We fixed an issue resulting in "Edit mode" button become disabled in specific scenario. We improved support for Junctions or Symbolic links. You now will be able to use global search while your game folder is Symbolic links. We changed the way how Size column is displayed in file list. Now it works just like Windows File Explorer. Some more changes was made, they are minor or are not worthy of mention. You can find change log on our bug-tracker here.UI LocalizationWe have written an instruction how to translate OpenIV into your own language and we are calling for you to do so. You can find the localization guide here on GitHub. As for existing localizations you can find list of differences between 2.9 and 2.9.1 here.

Your game cannot crash because of OpenIV.asi it might crash only because of mods and files you have. are you guys working on supporting audio configuration files?Maybe, they are not very friendly. If you have any issues with it you must report them. thats great i would also love xml error checks like https://www.xmlvalidation.com/, it turns out multiple of my carcol files were broken because i messed things up and didn't have <visiblemods /> only on cars with no tuning i simply remove the tuning parts inbetween so there was empty visiblemods sections and it broke the entire file, i had help from a friend who made this tool https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/vehicle-kit-id-getter#comment-1069206every time i loaded up my carcols in it i got an error it turns out it wasn't duplicate id's that was the problem but corrupted carcols, so i would love either a troubleshooting check where openiv checks all meta files for corruptions or to have it do that automatically on load, would also be nice if openiv could open the carcols.ymt file without having to download your decrypted one. second thing i would like is to show the path at the top as a setting to enable, theres been multiple times where i accidentally edited the wrong file as i keep multiple windows open, this would be solved if i saw the path at the top. OpenIV Team 381 Posted October 4, 2017 why does openiv now shows all files as kb in the size and not mb anymoreBecause we changed it: We changed the way how Size column is displayed in file list. Now it works just like Windows File Explorer. Now it works exactly like Windows File Explorer. You can see: Windows File Explorer OpenIV The logic behind this change is simple. It is easier to determine which file is bigger than others when sizes of all files in the same metric. @OpenIV Team Will you guys look into the PS4 version and perhaps implement support for it now that decrypted dumps of the game have surfaced online? Remix1994PL 71 Posted October 4, 2017 @OpenIV Team Very nice to see in the next version such things as:1. Possibility to copy folder and other folders such as "update" and "x64" to mods location: Like here / in the same way: 2. Ability to drag folders together with content to dlcpacks and other places. You can only manually dlc.rpf when you want to drag a folder such as "addon_mods" with content in dlc.rpf. This does not work and you need to manually create folders before moving the archive. 3. Possibility to skip the selection of the installation location / memorize the selected one. If you select "Remember my choice" and install the next time you click "install" the location selection would be skipped and the installation would start. If you select "always ask", the location selection will always be shown before you install the modification. * These settings can be changed in the openiv settings if you want to enable / disable or change your permanent installation choice.5. The welcome would be to support once more than one .oiv file and its installation. You can only select one file at a time, and when you have them installed, for example 7 of them, you need to navigate through the explorer and point the file one at a time.Regards. I hope my suggestions will help
theNGclan 9,686 Posted October 5, 2017 Is there any way to rip textures from IV console .xtd files (and the geometry from .xdr files)? I desperately want to rig the console exclusive suits to PC GTA IV, but I'm unable to find any way to extract these files. I noticed OpenIV can access IV console RPFs, so I was wondering if there is ANY possible way to extract the assets from .xdr / .xtd ? I would be willing to pay money for this, too. OpenIV Team 381 Posted October 5, 2017 can we get a Option in the settings to switch it?We will look what can be done here. 1. Possibility to copy folder and other folders such as "update" and "x64" to mods location:The idea of "Copy to mods folder" is to copy archives that you need in mods folder. You no need to copy whole folder there if you does not intend to edit files in it. Anyway, yeah, this can be added. 2. Ability to drag folders together with content to dlcpacks and other places. You can only manually dlc.rpf when you want to drag a folder such as "addon_mods" with content in dlc.rpf. This does not work and you need to manually create folders before moving the archive. It should work as you expects, but it looks like it got broken in the current release. Will be fixed in next maintenance update. 3. Possibility to skip the selection of the installation location / memorize the selected one.We will look what can be done here. 5. The welcome would be to support once more than one .oiv file and its installation. Is there any way to rip textures from IV console .xtd files (and the geometry from .xdr files)? There is ways, but not with OpenIV. Our code for console version of GTA IV is so outdated that we can't add it into public release right now, it must be almost fully redone for new internal systems. So, yeah, if you want it right now you better to use other tools. We will add all games and versions in OpenIV eventually but it takes time to rework old code.

rollschuh2282 4,873 Posted October 6, 2017 can you guys add a refresh option to openiv like in the windows file explorer to reload the displayed content? because when openiv is already open and i then use the windows file explorer to put a folder in the game folder, then i can make it appear in openiv when i open a already existing file or folder and go back, but the new folder is then showed as empty until i restart openiv
