I've only just noticed the nice ironic joke they've got going on with "Make Modding Great Again", that got a smile out of me.

i found a little bug in the gta 4 animation viewer:

when you use a player model to view ped animations then the smallest finger doesn´t move at all.

but when you use a ped model, then everything works fine

@@rollschuh2282 these animations are not meant to be applied to player ped models. The Playerped and other models have different skeletons.

Suggestion - when a phrase from Search tab in text editor is deleted, it moves to the beginning of the file, could you improve it?

This is behavior of the text editor component we use, I will look if it possible to change it.

Speaking of that, when I am working on a file, I would appreciate it if the OpenIV windows behind it were not locked. I need access to those to look up information when I am editing files. I know the back works, because hitting the right keys makes the file browser window in OpenIV jump backwards.

The editor window is modal on purpose, so user will not be able to switch to main window and remove file from archive or edit archive other way.

This is a bug then.

Could a shortcut for creating .rpf archives be added? You can press ctrl+D to make a folder, but there's no shortcut for .rpf archives, at least as far as I know.

Shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + N) for creating new archive in the current location will be added in the next version - http://openiv.com/bugs/roadmap_page.php

ok, i think this is a Bug in the cutscene viewer: when you watch manny cutscenes, and this camera overlay appears, then sometimes you can move the camera with the mouse until this overlay disappears again

The archive viewer would behave like it isn't in edit mode with an editor window open.

I still got to extract the file to edit it. Most of the code I write needs to reference other information in the rpf file when it comes to creating add on content. This makes the editor useless, unless I am making small tweaks.

Exactly, the most logical solution, if you don't want the user to accidentally remove the file he's currently editing, would be to temporarily switch the explorer window to read mode. Or maybe not touch this area at all. I mean, when I edit a file in MS Word, I can still access its location in Explorer and even delete it. And it will be my problem, not Microsoft's.

I'm pretty sure you can't delete file if it opened in MS Word:

Because Windows have built-in file locking mechanism, OpenIV don't have such thing.

Okay, whatever, I took it as an example (just checked and can confirm that it works with Paint.NET though). The point is, there are more arguments against locking other windows than for it. There is a workaround, though, I can just lauch another copy of OpenIV if I need to access archives while editing a file. Just let us do it the normal way, I doubt anyone will complain. If you don't want to let us access other windows so much, you can make it optional and disable by default.

Kaspersky declares OpenIV infected with Trojan.Win32.Generic and deletes it.

I am not sure the issue was before.

Generic... Likely to be some random behavior that is being flagged by your Antivirus.

That's why you don't use them. They just eat HDD Performance and return false positives. Just don't browse sh*tty websites.

2.9 is FUUCCCCCCCKINGGG SUUUXXXXX

It hangs when importing some .ODR models for GTA IV into the archive, while in the old version 2.8 import is successful.

Good, FIX IT, NOW!

Is it normal that "Also hide children" option doesn't seem to work at all when observing the collision meshes (aka "Bounds") inside the YFT models?

I just thought of an amazing idea for OpenIV.asi. What if you could add a file called mods.rpf?

Basically, the file would be like update.rpf. Same structure. Putting a file in it would override the file in other rpf's. Also, it would surpass update.rpf. So why would this be a good idea?

-We wouldn't need to copy the update.rpf to the mods folder. We would just have mods.rpf which only has the modded files and overrides others.

-If someone is modifying a file that would be in one of Rockstar's DLC files, they can do it with the extraTitleUpdate feature.

-This is the most important reason for this. When a new patch rolls out, we won't have to reinstall every single mod we did in update.rpf. That is the biggest headache for me. Only things you would need to worry about in most cases is the dlclist.xml and the gameconfig.xml.

You forgot about 4GB limit of RPF files.

i think he means the mods.rpf would be like the update.rpf but we don't need to reinstall every mod to the update.rpf after each update

because the mods.rpf would just overide the files of the update.rpf

Exactly what I was suggesting maybe a year ago. Still, would be nice to see it implemented, even though it seems harder to do than simply rerouting the game into the "mods" folder.

The sad part of this whole story is...

We are just a minority.

I'm pretty sure 99% of the console playerbase won't even know about this sh*tstorm and will continue fully supporting TakeTwo's unethical business practices, while mistakenly blaming Rockstar in the process.

It is just a shame to watch the best modding tool now share the grave with RDR map conversion project.

Oh... and let's not forget that a few weeks ago TakeTwo's CEO compared his customers to "animals".

RIP - OpenIV - 06/14/2017

Murdered by Strauss Zelnick and his unending corporate greed.

Being a minority is not a good excuse.

Well... going by TakeTwo's standards, it was enough to warrant a Cease-and-Desist letter as it seems.

Wished I had bookmarked the compiled 2015 graph that exposes the fact that less then 2% of the GtaOnline population are PC players.

Then again, we are dealing with the same f*ckwad CEO who went as far as banning and witchhunting NTAuthority and the folks behind FiveM a long time ago.

ASI Loader shipped with ScriptHookV wasn't updated since the first version release back in 2015 and still works fine.
