Today we are proud to release OpenIV 2.6. It took some time, but now you will be able to edit RPF Archives in PC version of GTA V. Currently we come with temporary solution, which requires ASI plugin

There is really no point of mapping if 3Doomer hasn't finish his export yet.Motivation is serious business.

He promised new version in this year.

"Copy to "mods" is not shown because you don't have "mods" folder or OpenIV.ASI is not installed (you need to have both). Hi, I just reinstalled OpenIV because it wouldn't open and a message was keep popping up saying "reinstall openiv or something" I cannot remember exactly and I reinstalled. Everything was already in the mods folder but when I checked the original rpfs, it had the "copy to mods folder" message. It really bothers me and I actually get confused sometimes. Any solutions?

So you're leaving the big empty space on the left of the "Extract Results"? Maybe combine these two panels into one?

Yes. And there is two reason for that decision:

 

First, for different games there is different panels:

GTA V

Second, there is new version of Search tool is planned with new UI and features.

could you guys please make shortcuts, for example: a shortcut that opens automatic the max payne 3 files or a another shortcut that opens directly the gta 5 files.

You actually can do it by yourself. Just create a shortcut to OpenIV and add "-core.game:" parameter, like this:

"C:\Users\[userName]\AppData\Local\New Technology Studio\Apps\OpenIV\OpenIV.exe" -core.game:Payne

 

 

So how's the text editor? I haven't heard that feature for a long time.

I've started to work closely on Text Editor few days ago and hope to finish it during this week.

Notepad++ is the king of text editors, look here for inspirations.
Also, do you mind to ask few questions to you about PSO?

it would be cool when we can can edit the: .XML, .dat etc. files directly in openiv.

because that's not working in the current Version.

Nobody knows when.

Keep an eye on OpenIV roadmap here and watch on progress.

OpenIV 2.9 is next.

Just remember, if you are including the map updates from EFLC, I give you permission to use stuff from my files here. http://gtaforums.com/topic/760761-eflcrel-pc-quality-texture-update/

Just give me credit for it if you do.

 

I recommend that you use it, so you don't have a mix of PC textures, and last gen quality textures.

Is there some way to find mods that are distributed as OpenIV packages? I just went through a number of popular ones, and they all required manual installation.

They will usually have a [OIV] or similar tag in the file name, else they'll mention it in the mod description. AFAIK gta5-mods(dot)com hasn't put up any special identifier for files that have installers.

Speaking of the clouds, I wonder if it would be possible to remove the vanilla clouds and add clouds to the game that are 3d. Then write a script that generates them for different weather types.

Game allows to put any drawable model to be rendered on the sky, definitions are stored in clouds.xml.

Can you please send me the files?

I've tried to export then import all models in v_clouds.rpf archive, yes it is impossible to import them, but I have no crash.
