GIMS Evo for Max Payne 3 with export feature (3Ds Max)

Some time ago we have released an OpenIV with openFormats for Max Payne 3 models, and today we are glad to release the new version of GIMS Evo plugin for 3Ds Max which allow you to import and export Max Payne 3 models.

Download GIMS Evo

Here you can watch a simple tutorial video, which show you the basics of how to work with GIMS Evo for Max Payne 3.

Can someone help me? Everytime I try to browse for the GTA V file location I get this error. http://imgur.com/eIpVhxm. OpenIV ran into a problem that it couldnt handle, and now it needs to restart. ERegistryException: Failed to create Key. Software\NewTechnologyStudio\OpenIV.exe\BrowseForFolder\ (In case link doesn't work). I'll post the error information if that is needed. I really want to get this working and would appreciate any help.

Some users experience the same issue like you. But, I still don't know what the reason for this. Can you please provide more information about your system? Windows version, antivirus, etc.

So I can't drag and drop files for some reason, yes I have edit mode enabled and asi manager installed. I've tried to reinstall Open IV multiple times, unchecked run as administrator box under compatibility tab, turned off antivirus. Not sure what else I can try so any help would be appreciated!

I know only two reasons why Drag & Drop may not work with edit mode enabled:

- You run OpenIV as admin (and the Windows Explorer is not)

- You trying to drag & drop from 7-Zip to OpenIV

I don't know if this is the correct topic for write this or I should ask it in GIMS Evo topic but is there any solution for this bug? I can't understand how the hair works in the game.

I have a problem with OpenIV 2.6.4.

I replaced the car sound for the SpiderGT (supercar_6_eur_v8)

(I only replaced the EXHAUST_ACCEL)

So my file has the exact same length, file size, has the exact same 16bit mono channel PCM format.

But when i go ingame and drive my car, the car sounds very quiet, like the EXHAUST_ACCEL-sound is missing.

My file also has the same Volume as the original one.

I tried to export the .wav file with a different program but that also didn´t work.

You should upload the .wav file and the .awc file.

It might be because of the Hz numbers (it's somehow the speed)

Quick little question I have regarding RPF rebuilding.

When editing an RPF inside an RPF, do I need to rebuild the whole RPF or can I just rebuild the RPF I'm editing inside the larger RPF? I've always been rebuilding the whole thing, rather than the one inside the RPF, but I just wanted to know.

Hi, is there a way to prevent to replace every mod file after every official update?

Looks like only update.rpf effected by the updates.

How can i easily replace my mod files after each update? (I've 90-100 mods.)

Right now the easiest way is to simply look through your modded update.rpf and look for everything that says "Compressed;" instead of "Compressed;Encrypted", since those will be files you've modified.

@GooD-NTS by any good chance, do you have anything in mind about allowing openiv to open .ymt files? i need to know entityxf modkit data, for modding purposes. Thanks

Not sure what exactly is causing the issue but anyway we have improved support for audio formats in new version you should try when it will be released and if you still will have this issue please report it here again.

Usually, you no need to rebuild RPF at all. What exactly you are want to achieve with rebuilt?

But, if you want to do it you need first rebuild inner archive and then rebuild the top one.

Support for .ymt editing will be after 2.7 release. We have everything we need, the only thing is left is implement it in OpenIV.

Can't replace weapon models for some reason. Followed every instruction and I've checked many times to make sure I've done everything right. Did the patch mess something up?

Which exactly issue do you have? You can't replace files? OpenIV shows you any error messages? You replaced the file but game still shows you original models?

Can you please be more specific.

@GooD-NTS watching the run is at 95% with 20/21 issues sorted out, how long would you say is left for 2.7?

There are some issue not on tracker yet. We are done most of the features for 2.7, but still I can't say when it will be released just yet.

Yeah sorry. No error messages, just shows the original models in game. I'm using the 'mods' directory, ASI stuff and all that.

You need to make sure the files you are replace have no new version somewhere in update. Use OpenIV "search" tool to find files by name.

So do I need to replace the models in every weapons.rpf?

You can replace just in one, but you need to make sure the games is used this archive now.

I actually got it to work by replacing the models in every weapons.rpf, so that's weird.

Yes, i am checking the modified files as you said.

But some files needs editing inside. For example vehicles.meta, handling.cfg...

And this is the hardest part. Because i have to replace again every modified line in these files.

Handling, vehiclesmeta lines of 100 vehicles must be replaced one by one.

What is your solution about that? :)

I would crate a text file saying what modifications you had installed.

The next time when GTA V gets updated you can redownload the mods and install them again.
