I'm not sure if this is where I should post this, but I've got an error when trying to open the file of a vehicle I had added something to from another vehicle. I'm not sure what it means exactly.

Can you please send your model file to me?

Yeah, I'll send you both of what I've done. They both don't seem to work. I'm taking items from other models and putting them onto another model.

Edit: I'm not sure where to send them to. o.o

Okay, I have looked at your files.

In "police5_hi.yft" (the one with crash), some parts are not attached to chassis.

Look at this screenshot:

00.png

I guess those parts you are trying to add into vehicle.

I do not know how model hierarchy handles in zModeller but you need to attach those parts to proper places. I think you can look at the hierarchy in original model.

I will fix OpenIV, and it will no longer crash in case like this.

@GooD-NTS

Could you show a hierarchy of that car in OpenIV viewer?

Why do you need this?

Viewer hierarchy, skeleton info

Yes, I guess.

What file?

Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\INTERACTIVE_MUSIC.rpf\td_vacuum.awc

Export to .oac

Replace the .wav files with 44100 Hz ones

Import the .oac file

OpenIV crashes when you open the .awc file and try to play the files.

Edit: Yesterday it crashed. Now it works

@GooD-NTS

My guess is game doesn't like vehicle parts, which aren't in other models, like misc_wr, trunk or gls. When I exported a car with a part called e.g. "blabla", damaged car created duplication of itself when bonnet or bumper falled off.

Does anyone know where the lab radio station is located? It is not with the other 1-18 radio files in main x64.

I see what people were on about with the mastering. A$AP Ferg - Work sounds flat but with really distorted sub bass compared to original. I guess you dont notice with all the game's sfx to mask it.

Found some "sasquatch" and "spooky" ambient archive sfx libraries for the game world but never heard / noticed these in game. Am i being dumb or are there parts of the world where you hear this?

Quite useful having access to every cutscene dialog, sound effect, ambience and music. Thanks for this tool.

Sorry if I posted this on the wrong forum, I'm too lazy to even look up the official OpenIV thread (as I need this ASAP).

So I was trying to install a LaFerrari mod on my copy of GTAV. It was on edit mode, working fine as usual, first installed the models and textures, yadda yadda... then, as I was gonna go to modify the data files of the Turismo R, I accidentally deleted the dlc_patch folder in the update.rpf file (accidentally pressed the delete button instead of the enter button, mouse was being a d*ck).

I freaked out - without that folder ALL of the DLC cars won't work. I repeatedly pressed Ctrl + Z, but it never restored the folder. It PERMANENTLY deleted the folder.

Since I lacked a backup file, I had to redownload the update.rpf file and proceed. I don't want this to happen again though - can OpenIV implement an undo button? Or does it already exist but I have no clue it's there?

PS: If you're asking why I modified the original game files and not include the additional mods folder, it is because I never will play online and making a dupe of the game files will waste my disc space (hey, I'm saving up for NFS 2015 and other stuff here).

id advise you to use the mods folder as that way youll have the backup at all times. youd have the original where it belongs = copy paste if lost, and modded one separately in mods/update. :)

It is impossible to implement undo function by some reason.

I think we can make "Delete confirmation" message before deleting to prevent accidental deletes.

I would love to take your advice, but then it'll waste my disc space. Although, it wouldn't hurt to put only specific files in the mods folder. Thanks.

i think unless you start modifying map alot you need just 2 files in mods folder and those 2 take about 2,5gb of space :) i mean x64e and update ofcourse :) but whatever suits you, you do :)

I remember you mentioning something about OpenIV supporting Red Dead: Redemption, and Midnight Club: Los Angeles by the end of the year, is that still going to happen?

Check out reditec's thread on his custom RDR tool for now. He seems to be making good progress on his tool, but the OpenIV team should implement RDR support soon.

Yes, but not in this [2015] year. We must to focus on GTA V now.

More important feature would be editing .ymt files and map modifications (with proper .ytyp/.ymap map configuration).

Release date? :)

bit OT: (hope it's okay anyway)

I just figured out I'm dumb as ****.

LZX extraction update will be published today 8pm (GMT / british timezone) along with some other features. I will try to find out some new things, but we're not making very fast progress, as I'm quite unexperienced with console modding and RAGE. Maybe there are some other people who want to join to create something awesome :)

I've run into an issue. OpenIV wont run. I've downloaded 2.6.4 and went to open the exe and an error pops up "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to acces the item." After that the exe disappears. I've tried running as an administrator and downloading to a different loaction. What can I do to get it to run?

I do like that Notification about editing non 'Mods' Folder based Files. So much time wasted Downloading because I had accidentally replaced a single texture, for example.

@@TandusKeplar what exactly is not run, Setup or OpenIV?

My bad. Setup won't run. ovisetup.exe

It's working now. It must have been my antivirus. Now it installs perfectly.

Can someone help me? Everytime I try to browse for the GTA V file location I get this error. http://imgur.com/eIpVhxm. OpenIV ran into a problem that it couldnt handle, and now it needs to restart. ERegistryException: Failed to create Key. Software\NewTechnologyStudio\OpenIV.exe\BrowseForFolder\ (In case link doesn't work). I'll post the error information if that is needed. I really want to get this working and would appreciate any help.
