@GooD-NTS can you add a feature to edit data files from inside OpenIV?

Exporting/Importing is a pain in the ass when it comes to vehicle mods.

Yes, it is in our list, but I don't know when it will be implemented.

I don't expect any new possibilities in 2015.

Okay, uppr_000_u.ydd in x64v.rpf streamedpeds_players/player_one does this.

Thanks.

So can we expect a fix for this in the next version?

I start OpenIV and I put in the gta 5 path it works fine for a minute and then crashes for no reason I try and open it and it says it's being used in helpdesk or it isn't a valid windows application please help. I also see another program is currently using this file please reply because I want to install the aventador.

I found out that the program using it is helpdesk.exe

What causes the crash at load? :/

I have the same crash at load. Mine's last entry is

01/10/2015 20:44:32.730 [7396] TRACE: [fiDeviceLocal::getFileAttr] 'x64/levels/gta5/script/script.rpf'

Creator, maybe you could provide some informations? When I remove OpenIV.asi the game works fine. I have everything updated. Too bad the log does not provide informations to track the problem's root - I have no idea where the file above should be located.

some ability to edit the main carcols.meta?

I guess you mean carcols.ymt

Unfortunately, I can't promise editing soon, but I hope at least viewing will be available this year.

I've looked at those textures but I still can't figure out what is the root of issue.

What? I have never hear anything like this before.

Does OpenIV shows any errors when it crash?

I don't know. Make sure you have latest version of update.rpf in your "mods" folder.

Does the drag and drop feature work for anyone else?... It stopped working for me.

Drag and Drop may not work if you run OpenIV as administrator.

If you still have crashes try to check each archive in "mods" folder.

I get this error if I don't run it as Administrator:

http://i.imgur.com/DlCSKud.png

Well, it's pretty obvious.

UAC is a pile of sh*t and unless you fully disable and take permissions it won't allow you to edit any files in most "critical" folders.

IOW: Use Administrator mode or disable UAC (depending on OS it's a pain in the ass, harder on 8+)

Right, I'm on Windows 10... is there no way to use drag and drop then?

You still have a few options:
  • You can install games you want to mod not into system folder (e.g. not in "c:\program files\")
  • You can make your game folder writable in folder properties.
And disabling UAC is not a good idea.

I don't want to install the game twice... I tried removing read-ony but it reverts back.

The same thing happens with other tools that extract textures from GTAV, if that helps. Also, the previews seems to be totally fine, so maybe a function to extract the image from the preview could be a way to get around it?

I was just thinking about a idea that might pose as a good way to fix Self Radio's stuttering problem (and possibly low volume problem).

What if we had some sort of way to add songs to it by putting them into an RPF. The station would be modified to play the songs this way rather than out of the folder. So long story short, Self Radio would play the songs like any other station woul play their songs. It would work as if the songs were built into the game. Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to do this in GTA Online due to the fact that it involves RPF modding. There would be a tool which would take the MP3's in the User Music folder, convert them to the game's native format, and put them in the RPF.

This would require some skilled coding, but I think it could work.

I don't suggest you to install game twice, just once but in right place. And I told about access right not read-only check box.

I guess this is because we both uses the same library from Microsoft for working with textures.

About preview, for previewing DirectX 11 textures we convert it to DirectX 9 format. We can't use this while exporting because we must to export those textures using DirectX 11 methods (that library from Microsoft).

Maybe just report those issues to Rockstar?

The problem here is audio metadata, it is not possible to edit it now. And it seems like nobody cares about it.

I have a important Question. I want to change or replace embedded Textures in YDR>DDS Files but it´s not possible and my Question is why? It´s possible to export the Textures as DDS, but i can not import the Files after i´ve modified them. Is there a Way to do this nonetheless? I´ve tried it with other Programms but no luck. Will you improve OpenIV to make it possible to replace those Textures directly, that would be great. Thanks. And thanks again for this fantastic Programm it works just perfectly. ;)

Currently, it is not possible to edit embedded textures with OpenIV. Because of the way how our RAGE Resource system works this feature might be implemented only when we will have models structures researched and described. This feature will come in future updates.

I care about it, does this audio metadata also control vehicles being linked to engine sound containers? Is there any chance of it being available for editing? What kind of programming / help do we need for it?

For instance, I've added in new audio containers to the streamed_vehicle.rpf instead of replacing current native ones. I want to link them to new and existing vehicles. Where is the audionameHash in the vehicle meta data file being defined at? Is it in the binary audioconfig.dat4.rel or game.dat151.rel files?
