Rockeater
Hi everybody! I have a basic multiplayer problem: Whenever I try to join a game my pal has started, I get this message: "Unable to connect to game session" Wether I join by being invited or join afterwards, this error message keeps popping up. This happens vice versa, too. Now, the funny thing is, I can join games from other players and he can. Other players can even join us, too. Ports 3074 (UDP/TCP) and Port 88 (UDP) are open. Live tells us that NAT is open. We tried some sessions with firewall and without - no change. He's running XP Pro with a German GTA version (uncensored as it is claimed), I'm running Vista 64bit with the US version. Are these versions incompatible? Does anyone have a clue how to fix this? Thanks in advance! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388146-basic-multiplayer-problem/ Share on other sites

Thanks in advance! I don't know much about PC backend stuff...but I am running Vista 64b and out of the 7 programs I have tried to install, only 1 has been succesful. I have come to the conclusion that Vista SUCKS! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388146-basic-multiplayer-problem/#findComment-1058817041 Share on other sites
deployroy
multitudes of the same problem, including an occasional "Removed from GaME" tried everything- all tut's- BUT I FIXED IT MY WAY!! / awful DSL modem (speedstream 4200) and 2 Linksys routers to get through (BEFSR41, WRT54G) like this /// I enabled DMZ on address 192.168.254.1 on the DSL Modem via --> 192.168.254.254 --- Changed Router Local IP (on main router page) from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 temporarily so I could access both routers in IE @ 1.1 & 1.2. Enabled UPnP and unchecked *Block anonymous Internet Requests* on both Linksys routers (no enabling of DMZ, or standard Port Forwarding method) then changed it back so both routers match 192.168.1.1 (piggyback access point) -- On Linksys router (only one I can see now, cause other is my AP) 192.168.1.1 (hooked up directly to Modem downstairs) I added these UPnP ports Both TCP/UDP ports (even cross-port if you run out of slots) 56 , 80 , 88 , 443 , 3074 And for IP I use what I was assigned on DHCP =192.168.1.103 (quick look in Vista's network & sharing center, view status, local connection, view status, IPv4 address) WALA- power down & reboot EVERYTHING. modem, routers & pc. oh: & change ur UPnP IP to your PC in the router when it comes back on in case it assigns you something else when its back up ur good to go. WOOHOO !!! -- Most rooms I join are green, and I can usually join them all. Worst part is changing my IP in the router if I get assigned another address- easy fix/ (i'd go static IP Xbox method , but it doesn't work here on my setup or ISP- hence this workaroud) Edited December 29, 2008 by deployroy Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388146-basic-multiplayer-problem/#findComment-1058819855 Share on other sites
