maraca2020
I have a Hp pavillion a1540n. 2 gigs of memory 2.2 GHz, and a 6150 graphics card I already bought GTA IV which runs .5 fps horribly. I tried to return it, no such luck, so $50 is already down the drain. I was thinking of buying a 1 gig 9800 gt. #1: is it worth it? #2: will it actually run well? or should I just cut my losses. And I cannot overclock since it is my parents computer and i dont think it allows it. Thanks very much Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388100-is-it-worth-it/ Share on other sites
Quemical
Maybe it will run with an extra gig and that card, Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388100-is-it-worth-it/#findComment-1058816341 Share on other sites
KeyEmYay
You'd need to buy both. A Quad Core and a New GFX card im afraid Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388100-is-it-worth-it/#findComment-1058816344 Share on other sites
keta-trypt
instead of getting a TOP of the line gfx card, get a medeoker one (8800? with 512mb) and a new CPU maybe a cheaper quad core or somthing of the likes.. My system is: 2Gb DDR2 2.8ghz pentium d geforce 8600GT with 512mb ddr3 n a crappy mobo. I can run any game this world has to offer with at least medium settings... Including GTA4. It isnt expensive to put together a decient computer.. Just be smart and dont get TOP OF THE LINE gear unless your really into it.. lol Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388100-is-it-worth-it/#findComment-1058816374 Share on other sites
maraca2020
k thanks. The only problem is I can't do all of that stuff. I barely convinced my parents to put in a videocard. So lets say I put in a 1 gb 9500, what would my framerate go to? or the 9800 1 gb? Would they at least be playable? And how would you add another gig of ram? would that really increase the fps? Thanks so much guys. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/388100-is-it-worth-it/#findComment-1058816396 Share on other sites

You'll have to buy a quad core (q6600 is good and cheap) and some more ram, which is really cheap It would help if you could post here the whole system requirements lab result. migban
you really need to buy a new graphic card, yours doesn't even meet the minimum requirements! I play with the recommended one (nvidia geforce 8600 512 mb) and it doesn't run perfctly. And buy 1 gb of ram minimum, it will improve the pc performance.
