RMN30 Error! Plz Help!

I've had this game for Xmas, and I've installed everything fine. At first, when I started it I had the RMN20 error. So I installed the Vista Service Pack and tried the game again. Now it has the RMN30 error. I managed to find the Windows XP service pack 3 and I downloaded it but when I try to install it it extracts the files, and then comes up as "The version of Windows you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install." It's really annoying me now, because I've waited so long for this game, and I can't get it to work. I'm using a Windows Vista laptop which is also the reason why I don't understand getting the RMN30 error in the first place. I got told to install Microsoft .NET Framework, which I just did, and I'm still getting the same message.

 

Please help, I've waited really long for this game!
