Yes I recieved conformation e-mail which claim that i get answer in 24hours(WTF??? Should be days I think). I used email address listed here: http://www.rockstargames.com/support/req_support_contact.php Does anyone receive answer ? Does this tech. support R* department even exist or all of them were fired in order to save many or after R* management ralised that they are not capable to provide any support after last BUG was released ? Unless you sent them a douchey email like "Why did you guys make such a bad port?", etc. Otherwise if you're having a specific problem with your game, it's probably already been addressed by the community. I have send 9 email regarding 9 separated problem I am experiencing in game. I am paying customer and I expected answer. Instead of that I recieved automaticali generated email which claim something which is not even need to true. I don't have time to search forum for some "possible" help. Know that game comunities are great. I am personally very active in Trackmania comminity but this game is full of serious bugs which I think can't be soleved be community. Back to my Q. Does anyone revieve help from them ? Last for days wrote to gameplanet support where I bought game I always recieve answer during few HOURS. And why they claim that I should expect answers during 24hours if they do not go work in christmas time ? If I were is situation that that I would not be able to finish work which whoudl be finisted 16days ago I would hire more workers or I would stay in offocia for 14hours per day or I would work in home or something. They are just lazy. Which is usually how the world works. Yes they do answer questions on the forum but through official emails on their site you're likely to get an automated type of response. So the answer is yes. They were even spotted here on the forum on Christmas day! So I haven't seen any signs of them forgetting about GTA IV PC. They replied with "copy the files from the discs to your hard drive". I think their tech support are monkeys or just a random answer choosing bot. Apparently the trained monkeys saw "XP Service Pack 2" but chose to ignore the "64-bit" stuck in there with it. Told me to install SP3, which doesn't exist for XP 64-bit (or Win2K3, from which it's based). Be prepared for non-readers to have a chop at it when they finally get to it. I wasn't sure if it was my motherboard or not. I have an EVGA 680i motherboard that were known to have issues with SATA DVD drives. It was supposed to be fixed in an earlier BIOS update and I had never had this problem before installing GTA IV. Yesterday I went to play GTA IV and it gave me the classic InSecuROM error message about not having the DVD in the drive. I don't have any programs like Daemon Tools installed or even any burning software (I rarely use my DVD ROM). I couldn't figure it out especially since Windows was recognizing the drive and that it was installed and working properly. The disc was in the drive but wasn't showing the GTA IV icon in "My Computer" like it normally does. So I tried rebooting a couple different times but couldn't get it to work. So finally I shut off my PC and switched the SATA cable for my drive to a different SATA slot on my motherboard. That seemed to do the trick until it happened again today. It seems rebooting my PC a few times and swapping the SATA plug into another slot is the only thing that works. Unreal! It never even occurred to me that this could be the reason as I said I thought it was my board. f*cking Sony and their Goddamn InSecuROM Rootkit Bullsh*t! By the way you should have emailed them back saying "Of course! Why didn't I think of that? I'll just use my super powers to magically pull the files off the disc with my mind!" This is known to fix many sound issues and i have the suckurom error also, just doesn't see my disc, i use the unofficial fix for that, f*ck suckurom! if i want to make a backup copy of my disc i should be allowed to i never agreed to the bullsh*t DMCA and it should never of been put in place. makes me laugh though, they will buy a sh*t piece of software that does nothing to prevent the copying of discs and yet will not put in place an anti-cheat system which does more harm for the game long term than preventing copy-to copy. The suggested fix was to apply a commandline: -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -minspecaudio They added that if the issue is not resolved to my satisfaction, I could re-open it within the next 7 days. rud Posted January 3, 2009 Share Posted January 3, 2009 The only response I got to them was about getting very slow frame rates. They gave me in game settings to try(for texture, render, and the sliders) that were far, far in excess of the settings that were already bogging down my computer. I told them I was trying to run it on the lowest possible settings, they basically told me to run it on medium-high. Of course, this didn't work. They responded to me one other time about getting RESC10 errors and other crashes but they didn't actually say anything remotely helpful. Then the patch came out and fixed my crashes but not my 10-20 fps and getting kicked out of multiplayer games with a computer well above min specs. The last email I sent them was still fairly courteous but was asking for information regarding further patching. I promised them I was going to send a new one every few days (which I preemptively apologized for) until I got an answer. My only hope is maybe a stack of support emails will do more to make their management realize they need to talk to us a little bit more than the ability to point to a forum full of angry, angry customers. I think this is the only good reason to contact their support really. They don't have any answers that we haven't figured out for ourselves right here.
