Infinite Sprint

Recommended Posts

coleporter

Hi!

Does anybody know where the "infinite sprint" option is located in the GTA3-folders? I'm asking because I don't seem able to complete the paramedic missions this time (I'm playing for the second time - and when first playing, I made it...) So I thought I could just find it and replace a zero with a "1" or something like that... biggrin.gif

To sprint without getting tired, tap the Sprint button, instead of pressing and holding.

Hope that's what you meant.

If you sprint in short bursts then you can go further before you get tired - but you will still get tired eventually and won't be able to sprint any more.

Either that or you won't be sprinting enough to make any difference

coleporter, there's nothing else for it. You'll have to do that paramedic mission wow.gif

It is hard, one of the hardest things to do in the game. But once you've done it, that infinite sprint is so useful.

The best advice to do the paramedic mission is to do handbrake turns to stay vertical and never pull up too close to the patients

I'll add to this:

- Do the missions on Staunton Island. It's flat an reasonably easy to navigate.

- Avoid the gang areas unless you have to pick up a patient within them. Drive around them, you'll have plenty of time. If you do have to pick up a patient within gang areas, stop and start as quickly as possible to avoid being dragged out of the ambulance.

- Stick to the wide roads where possible. Avoid the elevated freeway on the east side of the island, but make use of the highway below it, and the 2 on the other side of the island. These roads are nice and wide, making it ease to travel fast without hitting anything.

- You'll get plenty of time, far more than you need, so make use of it. There's no point finishing a level with 5 minutes spare time, if you have to smash the ambulance up to do it. Take it easy around corners. When turning around a blind corner, quickly look left and right before you get to the corner to see if something is coming. And watch out when you pass other vehicles. Every so often, one of them will change into your lane when you pass them.

- It's up to you, but I prefer not to use the siren at all, because it makes too many drivers unpredictable. I find it easier to anticipate the movements of other vehicles without the siren. And on the wide roads of Staunton Island, you don't really need them moving out of your way.

- Before you begin, park an ambulance in your safe house, and save. If you stuff the mission, you can load and get under way again quickly. This will also give you a bit of a head start, as the time given assumes you started from the hospital.

- Again, take it easy. You don't need to drive at a million miles an hour. And it takes much less time to do this mission slowly once, than it does to hurry it and have to have 50 goes at it. I like to pretend that the ambulance will explode the next time I hit anything with it. If you make use of all the time given, this mission is quite easy. The hardest thing is driving more carefully than you normally would.

Hope this helps, and lots of luck. smile.gif

It's best to do paramedic in Portland early in the game IMO. No gangs hate you, the whole island is small and easy to get around in with many open roads, and the hospital is easy to get to. Because in Staunton these annoying stairs can waste a bit of time unless you decide to use the longer ways.

Each to their own. I personally find Portland to have too many single lane roads with trees planted next to them, and other obstacles. Also, the only problem I've ever had with gangs is when they take the occasional pot shot at you, but for the most part, unless you have to pick up people in the gang areas, it's quite easy to avoid them completely.

As for the stairs, I don't use them. I find that there's more than enough time to do the missions without taking this shortcut. In fact, I've never failed the mission because I ran out of time. I used to fail the mission because I smashed the ambulance up too much, but once I started taking things easier and using the allocated time to make sure I got through in one piece, it's a piece of cake.

Unless there's a passenger to the NE of the island, I usually over the grass, turn right and go all the way to the end of that street and make my way from there to the patients. So long as you take it easy when driving and don't drive through the gang areas unless you absolutely have to, it should be fine.

Since this is Cheats and Tricks: on PC you can mod the Ambulance to be a super Ambulance in data > handling.cfg. Give it a -1 in column I to take the danger out of falling into water, too.

Also the useful thing against gangs is switching to upside-down view and back - this delays cars and peds spawning. Also there is completely no cars and peds (and gang members too) on streets with upsude-down view while driving car at max speed.

Yup, that's right, for PC users just tap the shift button repeatedly with 1 second interval.
