that he has exactly as many cores as rockstar team worked with to make the game to begin with

and has the perfect machine and is getting 160 fps right now as he is playing the game with ease?

no, but it probably says said person can run the game to an acceptable level.

My graphics card (HD 4850) is just sitting there doing nothing because R* decided to do a sh*tty port running everything in an emulator instead of actually doing some work so that the graphocs card can pick up the slack.

Phenom 4X 9650 here at stock speeds. with 4GB 1066GHz DDR2 and a 8800GT and XP x64. game runs at 30+ fps or so, high render and medium textures at 1680x1050.

I first ran the game on my "old" Athlon X2 5200 and gained about 10/15fps going quad-core. buying more RAM helped with the stuttering and disappearing/low-def world issues.

seems like the requirements for steady medium graphics settings are a 3.0 ghz quad core, 4 gigs of ram and an 8800 with at least 320 mb, anything below that and you're going to have major slow downs, I still experience slow downs but generally only when things are at their craziest

this game isnt meant for my cpu, while it doesnt use graphicscard optimal, 56%.

 

Tried every trick on this forums to get more fps, nothing works, patch didnt do anything noticable.

I dont have crappy popups or weird textures, so thats a plus.

 

Im starting to hate this game, waste of money.

Core 2 Duo is a model or trademark or whatever from Intel, so a core 2 duo in this poll can be just refered to as intel dual core imo.

 

About my probems, i have low FPS, severe CPU bottleneck (performance is about the same on any resolution from 800x500 to 1440x900), detail textures take to long to load, stuttering after a while. (pc specs on sig)

 

i play with low textures on 1440x900 (same as desktop) with -windowed command.

after playing for a while I've noticed i've started to get a lot of total system crashes that I didn't get before upgraded/overclocking, I get BSOD and some nvidia driver error (my mobo has nvidia components and I have an nvidia pci-e card). I will try going back to stock speeds and seeing if I still get crashes but it only seems to happen with GTA
