Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz

4 GB RAM

Had the stuttering issue but got rid of that using the -memrestrict trick. Now, I do not face any problems and I'm satisfied with an average fps of around 25.

Same here , 25 fps average ,same cpu and ram as you , only I didn't have to use -memrestrict to get my game working properly.

e6600 oc to 3.6ghz, getting an average of around 31FPS with 2 8800gtx in SLI and 4gigs of DDR2 800MHz ram

im running the game at 1920x1200 resolution with medium settings. It would be nice if others would mention their ingame settings and the resolution they are using, without which, it is impossible to infer the cpu performance, which i am presuming is the whole point of this thread.

core 2 duo E4500 and the game runs like sh*t along with my ATI 4850.

Sorry to say man but an e4500 processor aint gonna cut it..Along with your ATI card your bound for problems..stick to playing farcry or some sh*t

I had that exact same processor 2 weeks ago, everything on minimum and played like sh*t. Until I upgraded to a QX9550 OCed to 3.4 Ghz, this game is maxed now, with a playable 25+ FPS. It also helps to have more than just 2 gigs of Ram (4gigs + is recommended if your running vista and if your runnin more than 4 gigs use 64 bit version OS's).

My specs are:

ASUS P5K SE Mobo

Intel Q9550 OCed to 3.4 Ghz using Scythe Ninja 2 aftermarket cooling

8GB OCZ 1066 PC8500 RAM (4 - 2GB sticks)

EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB slightly Oced to the superclocked version

600W OCZ Extreme Gamer Power supply

2 SATA HDD's (160GB Samsung running Vista Ultimate x64 and software - 320GB Maxtur running games only)

All incased in a Cooler Master 932 HAF tower with 2-230x30mm intake fans, 1-230x30mm exhaust fan and 1-140x25mm exhaust fan

For a system that cost me only about $1100 CDN, it does what I want it too, and thats play games. If you know how to assemble pc hardware, I recommend buying the parts and building it yourself..You will save a bunch of money rather than buying the pc pre built

Specs in my sig, I just upgraded from 2 gb - 4 gb of ram, even though Xp is only reading 3 gb, I notice a slight difference (for the better) with more ram. I am not very educated when it comes to ram timings and mhz, but I heard the reason why my memory is only at 266 is because that's the frequency at which a Q6600 operates at, and for the best performance and stability you are supposed to match the CPU's frequency. I thought it would read at 800mhz but I guess that's not how it works, I'm just confused by that stuff. Besides all that though, the game seems to be at a steady 20-25 fps with these settings:

Resolution of 1280 x 1024

Highest Render Quality

Medium Textures

View Distance of 30

Detail Distance of 50

Traffic at 100

I can't remember the last graphical setting but I have it at 100

The game definitely runs better during the daytime, at night and when it rains I definitely lose my fps but that seems pretty common judging by people's comments, looks like nighttime and rain need emergency optimizing, daytime is alright, definitely needs work but I wouldn't put that at the top of my concerns.

Biggeo, I have nearly the same machine as you and I can run the game for about 5 min then PC locks up. Hard boot.

I have tried some things like changing from 1680x1050 to 800x600. Tried changing many of the graphics setting, no luck. 5 min, then UH UH UH UH UH locked up.

I originally had a:

P4 3.0ghz hyperthreading cpu

Nvidia 9600gt 512mb gpu

2gigs Balastic ram

I got about 10fps while driving and gun fights, 15-20 fps in houses, and 30fps in the cut scenes.

I just upgraded my cpu to a intel duo 2 core E8400 @ 3.0ghz

Amazing fps increase

50fps in houses, 40-50 fps in cut scenes, 35-40 fps during driving and gun fights

N im running windows xp

N iv never had any problems with graphics distortion. BTW run res at [email protected] everything else on min. Only diff i can tell on max is that the shadows have a better outline, and u can vividly see the white marks on the road (who cares).

Q6600 OC'd to 3.2GHz (for now).

I'm getting an aftermarket cooler for the CPU on Monday so that I can overclock it even higher. I have it running very well at 3.2GHz and never gets too hot while playing games, so I'm hoping on air I can get it running at 3.6GHz safely.

My game is on low, but it is running fine smile.gif. Just freezes occasionally, and I hope to god it stays occassionally.

Double Intel.

The only issue I am experiencing - 5-7 FPS. Entirely because of my crap video card.

Q6600, i have no issues. Just the usual stuff, like objects popping up when i turn around. But nothing serious wich would keep me off gaming.
