Matt00666
Hi everyone, I installed GTA IV and everything seemed to go fine, but when I went to play the game, as I was driving the car in the first mission, the screen just froze, and then went black. The music was still playing, but nothing would work, I couldn't even use CTRL-ALT-DEL to exit the game and had to push the reset button. It also happened on the pause menu, and in other places. I did download a patch for the game and installed it, but it made no difference. I have an ATI HD4670, AMD 4200 X2, 2gb ram, and running Windows XP SP3. EDIT: I have tried updating the graphics drivers, but it's still no better. It has also crashed to some resc10 error, and has also crashed to a "this program has encountered a problem and has to close". I tried to lower the resolution, but the game was then unplayable - it stuttered, like it was in slow motion, and then crashed to a "this program has encountered a problem and has to close" error again. THIS SEEMS LIKE THE WORST GAME EVER!!! It is unplayable bugged crap Edited December 25, 2008 by Matt00666 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/387491-game-freezes-at-black-screen/ Share on other sites
